Hey all, I just have a quick question:
How long does it usually take for a rogers sim card to be received at your door if u order from the rogers CSR? One CSR tells me that it'll take 7 business days with regular mail; another CSR tells me that it'll take 10-15 business days with Purolator, and then another tells me about 2-3 days!! ARGH...
Hope you guys can help out! Thanks
Austin

just ordered one today from Rogers GSM Customer Support, they told me should be there by friday and he gave me a number to call on monday if i don't get it on friday
Rogers GSM Customer Support: 1 866 931 3282 (was posted before)
The tracking number is 1 800 704 2474 if anyone needs it
What's the SIM card worth? $25 I think right? Aren't they giving away free GSM phones like the T193 with a 2 year contract? Why not get that...sell the phone and then use the SIM card to get whatever phone you want that's unlocked on eBay or from somebody here?
Fitter, happier, more productive...
but All Rogers phone should be lock
harder to sell a lock phone (i guess)
yes, the sim card is only $25
well not many people using gsm like to be tied with a contract I person wouldnt sign up a long term contract to just save on 25 dollars
2-3 days.
I just ordered mine on Monday night at 5p.m. I received it on Wednesday 12:15 p.m. through purolator ground.
I've seen the majority consensus on this forum that generally speaking, people don't like contracts when it comes to their cell phones. That's completely understandable...but I've been with cell phone companies since the old Motorola flip phones were in fashion (I think it's been almost 10 years now?) At any rate, I've found that contracts (when it comes to cell phone plans, not anything else) actually SAVE you money. Never have I seen the price go down and I had to bear the old pricing. If anything, I've seen the pricing go up.
For instance I think it's safe to say that U.S. cell phone providers generally charge more for their plans than do our Canadian providers. That's understandable since they have to have more coverage as well as towers and also they generally have more people using their systems! At any rate, prices in Canada can only go towards that (meaning higher) since more and more people are going on cell phones and the general population is only getting bigger in Canada (not shrinking).
But yeah, it's only $25. Not too big a deal.
if they purolatored it to your house someone has to be home to accept it. they'll leave a note saying they missed you and follow up with a call, but you never knowOriginally posted by austin_kwong

I think for purolator, if it is a home address, they leave it at the door unless it requires signature
If it is a business address, they require signature or something to pick it up
I think, but i m not too sure though
i had my sim card purolatored to my house, but no one's home during the day. they left a note and i had it sent to my office.Originally posted by etplanet
