So nothing worked until I called into AT&T and told them I had the camera icon in the messaging tab and that the pictures gave me an error everytime I tried to send one. The representative checked out my account and switched my messaging plan from the iPhone Text Unlimited to the general Messaging Unlimited plan... 1 minute later MMS was working!

Messaging Unlimited Plan
Hmm looking thru this thread it appears most people are on family plans for txting, could this be the reason mine is not working since I am on a iphone txt plan? Will they switch it for me?
At this point in time, I believe you're right, the only thing different for most people is their text/messaging plan. The iPhone text plan will not let you send MMS. You either need to try and call hoping for a nice rep or use the SIM swap procedure that's been discussed here several times. My guess is that I just got lucky with one of the reps willing to swap me to the Messaging Unlimited plan. You need to be very clear that you want the messaging unlimited plan as I have a feeling some reps will just apply the iPhone unlimited text plan, accomplishing nothing.

I just called and had my messaging plan switched and still not mms. Did you do anything else after the call? Did you change any settings?

I reset my network settings which restarted the phone...that was it. Make sure that the rep applied the correct messaging plan by looking at your online account. It should state Messaging Unlimited "ATT Recommended" and then list all of the iPhone Text Messaging plans.

messaging plan is correct. I did the network reset. Still not working for me. Oh well. Maybe they will turn it on soon
I called att , asked them to switch my plan to the messaging unlimited , took a few min and I did the carrier update 5.1 (which I found on this thread), did a carrier reset , and it works. To try ad see if it works all the time, I did it on my wifes phone also, and that works also.
seems to be working for me just sent wifes phone mms and it is working. used the info from the krill download and changed messaging plan to family unlimited. prior to changing to family unlimited it didnt work no matter what setting or changes I tried.
