had it working since Friday morning. ATT 3.0 and carrier file 4.0. I haven't updated past those two since mine is jailbroken. I don't want to have to redownload all the apps and reset all the sounds, desktop etc. I am happy with my phone for right now. I might eventually download 3.1 when the jailbreak is all set to go with the unlock too, which I also have done.
Well I give up. Jailbroken 3GS 3.0, tried with ipcc 4.0, 5.0, 5.1. Oh well, I can wait. I really just wanted it to piss off my sister, who's afraid to jailbreak. (In my family we've had kind of a "who's got the coolest phone" rivalry going on for the past few years, and I am back on top where I belong, hehe). But if mms doesn't work on the 25th I'm gonna be mad.
Well, I updated to the 5.1 carrier and I now get the camera icon in my text message area. Updating my wifes phone now to OS 3.1 and 5.1 carrier. We'll see if we got it working!
I see by reading this thread that there are people within a 50 mile radius of me using the same settings and carrier as me but cant get mms to work,, could it be that they are flipping the switch by name in alphabetical order and not by state? my last name starts with an A.
or could it be that im on a family messaging plan and they are not??
It seems to me that it is all about the messaging plan. if you have an iphone messaging plan then it is not working. If you have a family messaging plan, then it seems to be working. Does this sound right to everybody else?
hmmm. Then it must be random thing. My last name starts with D. I am in San Diego,CA. Have all the upgrades but Data Cellular menu does not show up and no mms.

Has been working fine for me all day!!! Sending to Verizon, T-Mobile, and other AT&T Customers with MMS.
I am near Kalamazoo, and my 3GS is sending and receiving MMS just fine. I'm on 3.0 with the AT&T 5.1 carrier file, not the 5.0. Family plan, family texting

Those are the exact settings that are working here in lower Michigan for me. 3.0 3gs with the 5.1 ipcc. I see there is a difference with the settings between the 5.0 and the 5.1. Have you tried the 5.0?
