This is great news!
"That 24-month period gave the incumbents all the time in the world to create the Chatrs of the world, create the Koodos of the world", Mr. Lacavera said, referring to the discount brands launched by Rogers and Telus in response to the threat from the new entrants.

Data should work if the APN is set up on the phone.
Many phones do this as soon as you put your sim card in. (Nokia's for example).

Rogers does, pretty much everyone I know is with fido/rogers, not one used/uses it. I dont think Rogers even offers plans for it anymore. Flopped bigtime. Doubt bell will reinvent the wheel.Originally Posted by doan_1

when will be the expected start up date........?
I should add, excuse me for being a party-pooper... Just make sure you run for the offer while it's available, because it most probably won't last long!!!
Was there ever any doubt?
If they prevented unlock phones on their network then they are going to lose a lot of prepaid SIM revenue from foreigners. They would also be the first and only UTMS network in the world to lock out handsets (other than blacklisted/stolen handsets).

They are more interested in long term contracts than a week of prepaid roamingOriginally Posted by Jonavin
