If you guys can set the SPC to 000000 you can just dial *22804 or *22806 and do OTA updating.

i've been trying to download the prl file, but am having no luck getting qpst, or my computer to recognize the app... can anyone give me some direction please. I'm in the middle of my flash and wasn't quite prepared for it.

What phone are you working on? I noticed you have a Motorola...Try using Motorola PST and they have a different format PRL file I believe...

motorola rsd general works better than moto pst and it does not need a different format you just have to have the right software.
