Cell Phone Model: w968 all stainless steel watch phone. First look at this watch you will say it is probably one of the best developed and styled watch suitable for the grown, mature male or strong looking female. when I received my w968 ...it had all the necessary accessories. this watch phone looks like no other watch phone. to the untrained techee eye it does nothing more than tells time, but when the touch screen is activated a blast of clear start up music is played and the ,..".insert your simcard is shown."
The watch isn't really entirely stainless steel...the two ends that anchor the watchband and cover the speaker is plastic, painted (silver).the menu is standard and doesn't differ from most of the watches out there. the fm radio is good as long as you use the wired earphones. the video and sound is good and clear. the Bluetooth ear bud i received with the unit allows you to listen to all the media on the watch...a major plus, because you do not have to pack a secondary set of earphones and no one will know your listening to you music or watching a movie.
so fare this watch phone is the only one I have used that allows you to remotely operate a pc or laptop from your wrist, via Bluetooth. this function hooks up with the Bluetooth of the computer and give you three options...1-desktop control...2-media player control...3-presenter. the layout of the control panel is simple to navigate with a stylus or the finger. The computer can be controlled up to 15 feet away.
The not so good review for the w986.
1. The battery looks cheaply made and it does not hold a good charge. just having the watch on , without using any media....the battery will go from full to battery low in 5 hours.
2. you can not charge the battery outside of the watch. most of the distributors only send on battery.
3. The simcard is difficult to takeout ...need fingure nails or patients to extract it.
the w986 cell phone watch in my opinion is not as stable than the w600's and w700's or k111 watch phones which are also stainless steel, but it is more pleasing to the eyes and more James Bondish than most of the watch phones made....,"you can freaking' control your computer with the thing".

I like the stainless steel look but features are pretty average,nothing new. The battery life is very disappointing.
your right...but the only function that i have used is the remote control. If you have a bluetooth ready pc/laptop you can control the desktop,media player and power piont functions.... the function is (hid/remote control in the watch menu)
The battery should be redesigned to last alot longer.
It is a brand new phone with a new battery. Have you cycled it a few times (this is the process where you charge it full then let it totally die for a few times) to break in the battery.
I had to do that with my V3 watch phone from Zenstech and it works fine.
My watch phone came with 3 batteries, I wonder why yours did not? Can you buy a back up battery?

i have cycled it...at th time the watch only came with one battery. now most of them are sold with 2 batteries...i havn't run into a seller that will sell a replacement battery as of yet.

Agreed. I don't understand the concept of phone watches myself. Maybe it's because I like to have one device that does everything (camera, phone, mp3/mp4 player, MiniPC), and can't see the purpose of having such a small device that only makes calls and plays music. Basically, the only reason I see people buying this is in order to show off, because a $60 Metro phone has the same features. It's going to be a while before people take these things seriously.

That's more or less why I bought this phone awhile back... I'd say 70% something totally different to mess with and 30% show off. The speakerphone is HORRID and it's only usefull with a Bluetooth. So with that said what is the difference between having a fully functional phone in your pocket or one on your wrist, as far as the Bluetooth is concerned. I messed with the phone for about 2 days and the call quality was too low and it's been in my desk ever since.
It is a great looking watch, but it's too thick on top. If I ever buy another in the future I will want one that you can't tell it's anything but a watch.
I did see one for sale for about $1,700... I was laughing too hard to remember what brand it was though.

The w600 watch phone is probably still the best watch out there...it really doesnt have any problems, but in the beginning the watches were being shipped with bad batteries . i have had 3 of them and 2 were shipped will old battery that had exploded. the battery with the plug-in end that had a black and red wire. other than battery problems the watch is very sturdy and reliable. try to order a new battery from the dealer you purchased it from or you can goto www.cellphoneslord.com and purchase spare batteries from there. tell them www.joestechreview.ning.com sent you! good luck!
if thats not the case then the usb connection of the watch is damaged and is not conducting the charge from the power cord. (make sure the power supply usb is plugged in securly to the adaptor). for more help goto www.joestechreview.ning.com
That was really awesome Watch phone . The elegant wrist watch phone also functions as a portable mp4 player. With the built in media player you are able to effortlessly play your favorite music, movies or pictures.
I bought my phone in China and of course now starts up in Mandarin or Cantonese. Does anybody know how to switch the language mode? Ideally if you can provide the menu function numbers to follow I can maybe get through it.

Surprising that it doesn't look like a watch phone at a first glance, actually looks better than the LG GD910 watch phone but I still prefer to use a standard mobile phone for now
