Just bought phone from Walmart. Is that OK for Page Plus?

I just bought a Samsung Smooth from Walmart. They scanned the sticker that says "Scan barcode below for Activation" into the register. The receipt says the phone's Product Serial Number & POP Number. Does that mean that they registered it with Verizon Wireless? Or is that just to put the phone serial number on the receipt so you don't return a different one? Can I activate it with Page Plus?

It's not activated with InPulse... you have to do that yourself (or not, if you want to use PP instead). Scanning the barcode just clears the ESN to be activated, and is basically just to prevent phone theft.

it does not matter if you buy it some where and they scan the bar code or sticker i bought one at walmart and i had no problem activating it with pageplus so don't worry about it as long as you didn't activate it with verizon

I've never complained about posters on HoFo before. But these continual questions which have been answered over and over again with answers readily available using the search function are starting to get monotonous and frankly very boring.

WalMart scanned my new InPulse handset. Can I still put it on Page Plus?
Yes. Scanning the handset does not prevent it from being activated on Page Plus. When you first power up the handset, it may want you to activate on InPulse. Make sure you cancel that process.
Just added to wiki FAQ (not that anyone will notice).

I was thinking we need a Top 10 list of common asked PP questions. I know this one pops up almost daily now. Of course it is all in the Wiki or FAQ now, and if they dont see that, they probably wont see the Top 10 list either!

For some reason, when I joined a couple of years ago, I found the search link very difficult to find. I have no idea why. Then when I started recently following the Page Plus forums, I again found it difficult to locate. I still have to *think* of where it is, rather than just having this big fat box available.

Again, I have no idea why this might be, but sometimes I wonder if this doesn't in some way contribute to new members asking first, and searching second.

    Regards,

    Hans

I find the forum search VERY unfriendly. The mobilefiles site has the same forum software and you can set it to bring up matching posts instead of threads containing matching posts. This feature is missing on the HoFo site.

What good is bringing up a thread with 50 pages in it, if you have to then search through each and every page to find the matching post.

Then you have the "advanced" search option which is too stupid to default to the forum you're in.
