I've heard that if you are using Vista, you even don't need install any driver and the phone can work under all three modes.
I am still using XP, if I am wrong pls point out

I'm having a difficult time installing the drivers for my SH-06A; if anyone would be able to give me some advice about it, I would very much appreciate it.
I've been inserting the CD, opening the folder to view files, clicking on the SH-06A_USB_DRIVER folder then clicking on FOMAinst. It opens up the agreement, and I click to continue. Then it tells me to connect my FOMA to the PC. I do, and it recognizes it (I assume because the prompt changes). But then it gives me this message:
「通信モード」 に 設定されたいないFOMA又は地のUSB機器が接続されました。
インストールを 中止します
I don't actually speak Japanese (beyond the level of a three year old I suppose), so from my best guess it means something like "Communication mode was not set foma is still the usb's area the equipment was connected. Installer will discontinue." And the only clickable option on this window is "Ok".
The problem is that I did have communication mode set. And I've tried plugging it in using different modes and then switching it to communication mode and plugging it in using communication mode to begin with, but I still get the same prompt.
I'm using a third party cable ― Air's URJ-FOMA. I was considering trying to find a real docomo cable and trying it, but I was just wondering if anyone else had this same problem or what your thoughts were on this problem. I'm running 32bit Vista and I installed the Japanese language MUI pack (not sure if it's even necessary). If you need any more info that I may have left out, please let me know.
I've been following this forum for a few months for help on my first keitai, and it's proven to be a very valuable resource to me. I know you guys hate such noobish questions; so I'm very sorry : )

Hm, I'm not sure. Because when I set the phone to MTP mode and connect it, go into Windows Media Player, and refresh devices, it doesn't recognize my phone at all. So I assumed that I needed to install the drivers?
Then try..
1. un-plug the phone-pc connection
2. start install the driver
3. when ask for connecting the phone, connect it again and set to communication mode
try WMP again when installation finished
i havent got datalink working on my sh-6a, im using AIRS able, so not sure. But WMP and microsd mode work. Not really worried about.
but on sh06a, for regular microsd mode I would just do bulk sort method, much easier
but for other docomos, this software works good

I tried unplugging it and starting to install the drivers again, but every time I plug the phone in I get the same error message that won't let the drivers finish installing (or even begin installing actually).Originally Posted by hiallall
This time I also tried plugging the cable in with the phone not attached to it when it asked me to plug in the phone just to see what happens, and it gives me the same error message that it gives me when I do have the phone attached. So it's recognizing that the cable's plugged in, but when the phone is attached maybe it's not recognizing the phone at all? It seems strange and makes me suspect the cable again.
With bulk sort you can't do wma files, can you? I was hoping to get the drivers & Windows Media Player working so that I could use the music player on the phone instead of playing music from the i-motion/movie folder.Originally Posted by aw614
Does your airs cable have a microsd slot integrated into the cable? Mine does and I was wondering if that had something to do with the computer not recognizing the phone in Communication mode.
And thank you; I'll try that software : )
1. can you try on another PC ?
2. try get an official cable (since I had the same problem also, only the official cable work, don't know why) I thought is the cheap cable problem, but later I found out the cheap cable work no problem in another pc)
I tried it in a friend's computer, and it ended up doing the same thing. She's running the same OS as I am, so I'll try finding someone running XP to see if it makes any difference.
But I'll try getting the official cable and see if it helps; I'm guessing it will. Thank you for your advice (^-^)/
waiting for your good news![]()
Great news; I got the official docomo USB cable, and it worked^^ It wasn't recognizing that the phone was plugged in with the Air's cable; I'm not sure why. But thank you so much for your advice about trying the official one, I was hesitant to buy another cable if I didn't know that it might help.

Good to hear that !!
Have fun keitaing
Is there a Windows7 x64 driver for the SH-06A?
Nevermind. I forgot to switch the phone to MTP mode. Working with Windows7 x64 now.
