It's already blocked with 3g regular phones, though it's still working with WM phones.

You stated "unbranded", I re-enabled tethering capability on Equinox through hacking, try to do it on Samsh*t HSPA phones.

19.99 plan stills work with unbranded TM506 and CTR-350 setup..
It also works with Pharos 137 BT PAN..
If those two are not option for u... open a diff line for data plan only.. with free activation....and no contract..
Come January... u can decide which one to keep... As during Aug .. TMo had reverted its position on unlocked phone's TMobile Web access...

I had a chance to talk with one store rep when he was dealing with other customer about data plans, he told me webconnect (and he was playing with the USB 3G stick) had ZERO sales so far, he told me all customers think it's too restrictive for the price and wouldn't get it.
Frankly, if T-Mobile did some adjustment, the situation will be different.
    $30 for 1GB
    $40 for 5GB
$50 for 10GB, with $5 per GB overage
$120 for truly unlimited (but Eclipse Mobile will provide truly unlimited datacard for $70)
$10 monthly off (except $30 webconnect) for BYOP customers

I was wondering if it's possible to get the Webconnect Jet 3G stick without a contract? I am willing to pay full price for it. I need it for a few months and would rather not enter into a two year contract.

Sure, you can buy it outright but what plan wiill you use with it? You need to have one of the 2 WEBCONNECT Plans in order to use the DATA Stick and they require a 2 Year contract. You would have to, at the least, convert an existing plan over to WEBCONNECT and then when done change it back to a regular plan for use with a phone. That would be the only option I see.

Duh! Well, it is a much better option than T-Mobile's own service. They should be ashamed of themselves, especially for requiring a commitment.

Coverage will expand to 100 million LTE pops for the first half of 2013, with the second half of 2013 expanding to 200 million POPs covered. Release 10 LTE (2×10, 2×20) will be better performing than all other competitors.

It does sound interesting. Unlimited data for $39.99 sounds too good to be true.
