    Scottish,

Your side note - does this mean if you put the webConnect SIM in your phone that you can still tether but can't make calls? Just curious. Also, do you know if there is a way to turn off SMS messages to the webConnect plan? Reason I ask is that the number I was given by T-Mobile was recycled and I am getting random SMS messages directed to the previous owner of the number and I understand that T-Mobile charges .20 per SMS on a webConnect plan.

With Rocket stick, I get 5-7Mbps in NYC, nothing special in Washington DC.
With other devices (Option 452, N900, HD2), I only get up to 4Mbps.
Latency does look good with HSPA+ though.
A side note: ALL smartphones I have work with webconnect (Pharos 137, N900, HD2), but voice calling is disabled.

Cool, thanks for the extra info. I'll look at both modems and see which one looks like it'll be the best for me.

You can either block it, or add $10 messaging (text/MMS) with webconnect.
