Jabra BT 8040 vs Jabra 530

Im debating between these 2 bluetooth earpieces. I currently have the Jabra BT 8010 which work like a charm. Im looking for good sound during music playback through the headset and good battery life, and good use during calls.

Im interested in trying out the the 8040 or the 530. Which one lasts longer and feels more comfortable in the ear? my only complaint with the 8010 is that after a while my ears are kinda sore (sometimes). I like the 10 hour battery life on the 8010 tho.

i was lookin at the 8040 and it looks like it has no hook? how secure is that in the ear? hows the sound of music through the headset?

and from what i've seen with the 530 it has the option of using a hook or no hook? how secure does that feel without the hook? and how comfortable is it with the hook? hows the music through the headset?

which one should i try out? i may eventually grab both but for now which one is better?

    I've got all the units you mentioned (8010, 8040, & 530).

Of the 3, the BT530 is the best IMHO.

It has the best sound, the strongest and most stable bluetooth connection, and is the most comfortable.

The biggest issues I had with the 8040 are it's lack of an earloop and the poor performance in windy or noisy conditions. The 8040 would fall out of my ear after a fairly short period of time.

The BT530 has an optional earloop but the fit is so good that I haven't needed to use it yet!

Plus doesn't the 530 have a simple on/off switch as opposed to holding down the button to turn on?

Funny how this thread was created as I was contemplating the same thing.

Yes, the BT530 has an actual on/Off switch.

You do have to be careful however, when you use it. You need to simply SLIDE it to either position. Some people have had the switch fall off when they used to tip of their finger (or fingernail), and accidentally get Under the switch and pull/pop it off the unit.

The BT530 has become my all time favorite unit. I love the look, feel, and performance of it.

I'll place my vote for the 530 as well. Good battery life, good noise reduction, small size....

Only complaint for me is that the incoming audio is a little low.

It looks like the JX10 series II with slight mods.
