I am just wondering if anybody here has ever had to send their Garmin Nuvifone G60 in for warranty service? Mine is still working fine, but it is more of a cosmetic issue. On the screen it looks like there is a film of some type along the edge of the screen that is loose. I think this might be something that is supposed to be between the edge of the screen and the body of the device itself. I looked at the box tonight it it appears as if it is covered under a one year warranty from Garmin. According to the Garmin website, my registration date was Feb 6, 2010. Since I now have a Garminfone on order, this might be a good time to get the repair done. I bought this new from Amazon. I do seem to recall Garmin stating they do NOT cover under their warranty items bought through E-Bay, but I don't recall if there is a similar exemption for Amazon.
Just when you thought that this thread was completely dead, I resurrect it. (Well, just a little bit, maybe.) Anyway, there has been some discussion on POI Factory of the non-cellular version of the Garmin Nuvifone G60, better known there as the Garmin Nuvi 295WT. I don't know how many of the tricks there will be of benefit to people here, but I figured that I owed it to people on both forums to let each know about the other.
So...still no way to de-ATT our G60s? Anyone managed to put the APAC or other decent version on the ATT G60? I emailed Garmin asking if there is, now that it is discontinued. No reply yet.
I guess Garmin is two for two. A real GPS combined with a cell phone sounded like a good idea as most people buy both. What's next for Garmin? A tablet?
I've had my G60 since June '10 and still enjoy it very much. But I'm a business traveler.
Hey, I still like both the G60 AND the Garminfone (AKA A50). So much so, that I bought a another second hand Garminfone for my oldest son. Right now the one that interests me the most is the Motorola Defy, because it is rugged and water resistant. It is too bad that Garmin-Asus wasn't able to make a rugged, water resistant Android Garminfone!

Garmin Nuvifone G60 And Garminfone Suction Cup Mounts
No, they are not the same. From the Garmin website the dimensions are:
G60 4.4 x 2.3 x 0.57
A50 4.57 x .49 x 2.46
I have both of them and I actually happen to have both windshield cradles in my pickup truck right now and I can confirm that they are different enough in size that they will not work with one another.

I was thinking about this again today and I assume that Garmin never replied to the email then?
I gave my Garmin Nuvifone G60 to my son last night to use. His first comment today was that the battery didn't even make it to lunch time. I was looking for a way to disable the GPS, but I couldn't find a setting for that. Will selecting the GPS Simulator effectively disable the GPS and, hopefully, increase battery life?
So far, I think selecting GPS Simulator seems to increase battery life, however, each time it is connected to external power it seems to disable the GPS Simulator. By any chance does anybody happen to know if there is a way to select GPS Simulator and have it stay on even when external power is connected?
I think I have read every post on the net about this phone. I am still stumped. I have talked to Garmin , AT&T and no one can help. I am looking for a way to get this Phone to stop rebooting Loop. I have tried about everything. It starts to boot up gets to the battery, signal, sat, on the top of the screen then stops. The phone is in great shape and I hate to junk it.
