Excuse my ignorance, but is the hardware basically the new curve/javalin with the optical trackpad?

It's the Blackberry Javelin (8900) with a optical trackpad that costs $100 less.

no 3G, 2.0 MP camera and a lower resolution screen.

Trackpad was pretty good last i tried in the U.S. Pocket lint is no lower the BB's enemy.

-No GPS
-2.0mp(8520) vs 3.2mp autofocus(8900)
-screen is 320x240, compared to the 480x360 of the 8900
-No onboard memory, compared to the 256MB of the 8900

Rogers could really give a flying fart about No-Contract pricing... can't blame em either.

If you want it for that cheap than I'm sure there are other methods of getting it...

Has anyone here used it yet? I am curious. My 8310 still works like a charm, but is looking a little rough...like the wi-fi, and am ok with having that instead of GPS.

The 8520 does have 258mb of application memory built-in. Every Blackberry must have some internal memory for the application installs.

Seems the same as a 8310 except the 8520's screen is 0.16" larger, 200mhz faster and 256mb memory vs 64mb on the 8310.
