Honestly, I don't see why anyone would want that Add-on............To me it just doesn't make sense.........Yeah if there was a way of making calls outside ur home using Wi-fi, then maybe it would be something to consider....but then i guess there is always something for everyone..........Thanks for the info indeed..............

I don't think you're just limited to YOUR home but rather WiFi. So if you go somewhere else with WiFi, you can use UMA. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but how would Rogers be able to tell what WiFi you're connect to since you're not on their network anymore?
And I would definitely get it instead of a land line if I found I was getting a lot of home calls.

Okay so let me get this straight, it basically will let u recieve and make calls in your home..........without using up any minutes on your cellphone......What I can't understand is, that unless u want to give up your LAN line, than it may be great, otherwise it wouldn't make sense.............having both....unless u have a big family, and even then have them call u directly to your cellphone rather than calling your LAN line.............so to me UMA is very limited unless u can use wifi anywhere outside your home and not incur extra minutes.............now that can make sense............
Okay having a cellular plan + $10 for talkspot....+LAN line............
why pay more if u got unlimited evenings and weekends...., at the same time u got a LAN line...............
If u don't have unlimited evenings and weekends, than add $5 for 6pm
the only way it makes sense is if u don't have unlimited evenings/weekends and a LAN line...........than $10 is not too bad......and with R2R, unlimited incoming, I don't see the reason to have that added on.........unless like I said earlier..........only if u can use UMA anywhere especially on the daytime using wifi...................and at the same time u are going over ur minutes......only then it may be worth dishing out an extra $10............
if there is more to it, please do advise....................Thanks
But only a Rogers 8520 can use that UMA with Rogers Talkspot.
I worded my previous posts incorrectly. I should have said the a Rogers 8520 is needed to.use Talkspot. And Talkspot only works with Rogers devices that support UMA.....
Nope. you can install the rogers UMA certificate into any UMA device and it will work.
so if you buy the tiger direct BlackBerry 8520, Rogers TalkSpot will work after you install the certificate
Okay so Rogers are ripping people off by charging them almost $120 more than what Tigerdirect is sellling the 8520 for..........if one is no different than the other, except the cheaper one is unlocked...............

It gets better, T-Mobile is launching [News via Engadget ] a no contract, no strings 8520 for $300 US with one month service included.
Buy the kit, keep and unlock the phone and ebay the SIM with the one month service included.
