I have the "Old SERO" plan (500 mins/$30) & I'm now kind of tired of my Treo 800w. To me, the phone that I currently have looks so outdated compared to the new phones that keep coming out. Anyway, I came here to ask you guys about all these new phones that Sprint has. I have three phones in mind that I want to upgrade to: Palm Pre, HTC Touch Pro 2, and HTC Hero (Google).
Which of those three phones are available with my current "Old SERO" plan (500 mins/$30)??
Touch Pro 2
thanks, I will order one right away.
Just curious -- where do SERO folks buy their gear? Assuming you don't go with a Pre or Instinct that forces a plan change, do you just extend your contract?
It seems like with the HTC Touch Pro 2, you have several options...
eBay = ~$450
Sprint (24mo) = ~$350 AR
Sprint (12mo) = ~$525 AR
Sprint (0mo) = ~$600
Unless I'm reading the details in the cart incorrectly, it doesn't say anything about being forced to upgrade, which is quite nice. I guess if I like my SERO-500-$30 plan, there's no harm in renewing for 2 years...
Just curious as to what everyone else usually does...
Cheers,
Edit: It seems as though the rebates for the 12 and 24-month plans may not work, as they *verbosely* state that you need to be on one of their newer plans...

SERO/EPRP use this rebate form: http://www.nextel.com/assets/pdfs/en...mir_103109.pdf
So... for the sake of the discussion of which new phones work with SERO...
From what little I've read here, the HTC Hero (Android) won't work with SERO, which leads me to assume that the new Samsung Moment (Android) will also not work with SERO.
Android + SERO would be incredibly nice. Alas.
According to this document from Sprint, the Pre, Instinct and HTC Hero are the only phones not compatible with SERO
https://www.sprint.com/webconversion...thing_Plus.pdf
Thanks for the link to the official document! That certainly confirms the HTC Hero's unavailability for SERO beyond any doubt...
I guess we'll find out in due time if the Samsung Moment gets added to the list of phones incompatible with SERO. For now, I guess it's a bit early, seeing as how it's not yet released. But... it would stand to reason that if one Android phone is incompatible, that the other one would be, too...![]()

towards the end, it says at 1:16 it requires activation with Everything plan with data.
punch in the face for you SERO peeps. i used to have 1250, now i pay ~4 dollars more, but i get premier and new toys each year.
y'all should think about it too if you were on the $50 sero.
Sounds good. Are you saying 1250 min for $54/month?Originally Posted by tap0utt

ya please explain your plan
He probably used corporate discount w/ regular simply everything data plan. For example, my company gives 20% discount so that makes regular simply everything data $56/month. You get less minutes, but you gain any mobile which in a lot of cases offsets the need for more minutes.
sorry for not clarifying.
i had the SERO 1250 for $50 bux prior to tax.
now i have Everything Data with 23% off. I work for a hospital. so the 70-23%= ~$54 prior to tax.
i lose out on those minutes, but this now includes any mobile minutes. for me, it think it was a decent switch.
