Downgrading from Mogul/PDA to regular phone. Which will help ease the transition?

I've cracked the screen on my Mogul which I got for my seasonal business (email, internet, etc.) but this year things are bad and I'm not working, so I need to downgrade my phone.

The problem is, Sprint will fix (or replace) my Mogul for $120, so in order to make it worth my while to lose all the upgrades I've grown used to over the years, I have to get a very inexpensive or free phone.

My #1 concern is good network connectivity (I know some phones have better reception than others). Even if it's the size of a brick, I don't care-- as long as it's free (or very cheap) and has great reception. Email/web/camera/bells & whistles are all secondary.

    Any suggestions?

I look forward to your replies.

I'd recommend a Treo 755p off of eBay. The 755p is only dumb in the sense that PalmOS is so old, but being the grandfather of smartphones, it really isn't all that dumb. It's got a good keyboard, a ton of apps that will solve most any of your problems, and most importantly... it has the best reception of any phone I've ever come across, and it's built like a tank, too! The dumbest smartphone you can find, but it's definitely worth the $60 or so it's going for on eBay... without a doubt. I'm not sure why people pay $7/mo EVERY month and then EXPECT to pay $100 for a smartphone deductible... all while you could've just gone without high deductible "insurance" and bought a Treo 755p off eBay instead.

The apache runs windows, so expect to reset!! But the software is changeable to something you like. Lots of free software for this phone online also. ppcgeeks.com was always changing the ROM's for this phone when it was hot.

The Apache(6700) is the descendant of the Mogul, so that would be a pretty good fit, HOWEVER, @OP, are you sure you couldn't just score a cheap one from off of craigslist. I've personally had 2 that I sold for 65 bucks a piece earlier this year.
