Since Straight Talk has unlimited data in their $45 unlimited plan, doesn't it seem plausible that Page Plus could do the same on their $40 plan? At least it proves that Verizon is willing to let their MVNO's offer unlim. data plans. And, $5 more for unlim. data on ST might steal some of PPC's customers.
unlimited data? I thought it was 30mb
Maybe it's recently changed, but on their website it says "Unlimited minutes, messages, and data".
Nice. Looks like ST is upping the the stakes!
I just verified that with a StraightTalk customer service rep. He was aware of the change and repeated that data is now unlimited with them on the $45 plan.
I am sure PP will follow although maybe they do so with a 3rd plan at a higher rate.
Searched but could not find: (called ST but phone rang with no pickup)
1) Use any Verizon phones?
2) Unlimited data can be used with a usb/pccard for laptop?
3) Comparison to PP? (besides unlimited data on phone)
1. No, ST onlyOriginally Posted by blueview
2. No, but you can tether the Moto phones
3. Haven't used them but I'd guess exactly the same
With a little effort I don't think it would be too hard to put any Verizon phone onto StraightTalk but even though that says unlimited they must have a cap in their head somewhere and if usage soared because of 3g they'd probably just terminate the account.
Tethering is against their terms and conditions but since their phones are 1x only how much damage can you do?
PagePlus probably comes back with some higher web cap to make this an equivalent, 500mb? How much is enough for people strictly using their phones but say using Skyfire instead of Opera?
The operator I spoke with was friendly enough but barely spoke english. If I was calling with a service issue I would run out of patience with that real fast.
This is good for users because PP will increase their deal if not match it.
1200/1200/50 for $30 from PP, T-Mobile going unlimited everything for $50, AT&T GoPhone direct at $60 unlimited voice, text mms and now unlimited data from a Trafone sub?
Whats the world coming to?
Wow, that's commodifying data, just like voice has been commodified. Didn't Clark Howard say on his radio show a few days ago that wireless prices would plummet very soon because ClearWire is coming with super cheap wireLINE ethernet. Super fast and cheap WireLINE being available everywhere for your laptop as opposed to WireLess.

What if you buy the web-capable phone from straight talk, extract all of the settings (WAP/SMS/MMS/, and the PRL roaming list) then clone the esn to a verizon VX11000 or another phone capable of beign cloned and change the settings??
Apparently, 90% of Europeans use prepaid while we are 90% contract. These prepaids such as PP should help.
Clearwire & LTE should be good for consumers as the mifi is already $60/mo.
If Page Plus got unlimited data that could price-wise compete with the old SERO, I would probably switch back. On my current SERO plan, I'm using 50mb per day between Google Maps and YouTube.
HOLY CRAP! It is UNLIMITED DATA! When did THIS happen? Man, ST is not taking PPC lying down are they? Wonder if PPC will give us better data too? http://www.straighttalk.com/ServicePlans
Granted the Razr and W385 are 1xrtt, but who cares? Unlimited Verizon data is unlimited Verizon data. Who would have thought this would EVER happen, 1xrtt or not?
ST better straighten out the data/web issues or they will lose more people to PPC though...lol. Letting 30 megs slide is one thing, letting unlimited data AND messages (mms/pic/video) slide is a whole nother matter....
UPDATE: Straight Talk UNLIMITED EVERYTHING including WEB/MESSAGES is to kick in officially on all unlimited plan users on Monday October 12. The same day the Att $60 Nationwide unlimited is to be launched.
The new Unlimited cards with messaging and data offered will be going out on that date: Older 30 meg cards are supposed to be redeemable for the new plan instead as of October 12.
No roaming, but unlimited data. Nice tradeoff.
Wonder what PPC is going to do? Lol....can't wait...
I think we're in for a wild wireless ride coming up![]()
Off the Grid, where did you see an unlimited everything Tmobile plan? Is it prepaid or are you referring to the upcoming Simple Mobile mvno? Thanks!
