It's a risk no doubt. If they fold up over night, you're hosed. On the other hand, if no one ever signs up with them for fear of that, they will never get off the ground.
The thing that worries me is that the way they're launching this is just so amateur. To think that T-Mobile has one MVNO only (well, two if you also consider Tracfone/Net10)... but, for T-Mobile to hold out this long, and then give it to an unknown entity? Don't get me wrong, I'm for the little guy every day of the week and twice on Sunday, but something about it doesn't smell right.Originally Posted by Joe12304

They are crazy. Air Voice, H20 , Page Plus all offer better deals without all these crazy minimum upfront fees. Smells fishy.
And if Tmobile really does have a Project Black, which supposedly offers a $50 unlimited everything plan and if it is available prepaid or Flexpay, Simple Mobile is dead in the water.
Regardless, all those overpriced upfront fees is a HUGE turnoff. Sounds like another Zer01 if you ask me. Beware.
Secrecy. Money up front. Expensive. Offers less. Never head of company.
Screw that. Stick with Att, Air Voice, Locus, Page Plus. Names you trust and have been around for years.
What the frak does that mean? It means the opposite of what it says.Originally Posted by fonezfonz

They aren't authorized to do any of that selling distributorship's, etc. Look at the site again. Hes got a half price sale going on already, $5,000 for a distributorship. Cut in half in less than 9 hours!
Apparently, these guys are not authorized to do what they do.
I ran a check on the number. It appears to belong to some guy named Robinson who is involved in a wide range of schemes including loans, telecom, real estate and other stuff. Sounds like a get rich quick guy trying to use Simple Mobile to get rich quick.
In other words, trying to pull an mlm or similar shady scheme.
I hope Simple Mobile sets all this straight. November 1st is right around the corner. Good to see a list of supported handsets, though that just means that the sim will work in those phones, but they will not help you if anything goes wrong probably if it is not a Simple Mobile handset. Same as PPC. You can put Verizon phones on their system but if it goes haywire, you are on your own.
That is what this place is for. Lol.
Btw, SM lists 180 models. H2O unlimited has over 525 listed for supported models. Not too impressive for SM. It should just be any gsm phone already.
I think Simple Mobile will get crushed between Straight Talk total unlimited and Tmobile Black. At $45 and $50 for unlimited everything, who is going to pay $60 for an mvno that no one has ever heard of ? Plus ST and Tmo will be launching before Simple Mobile does, further ensuring that they will be ignored.
