    Boost CDMA/Sprint 3g/EVDO speeds?

As we all know the boost CDMA can support certain sprint phone is the ESN is freed or clear. I am wondering for those who have been able to get a data phone on the network with the data working, what is the speed like? I am on tmobile with a G1 and the performance is good. Love the speed and coverage. The speed is 3248kbs. I am inNYC I am wondering if the EVDO is close to the tmobile 3g speed. Really would like to hear if people are satisfied with their service in reagrds to data.

Awesome speed here. To compare apples to apples how did you measure your data speed? Some who have been reporting 3000 and 3500kbps speeds are getting those results using Opera browsers, which due to their compression reports speeds incorrectly. Test speed with Internet Explorer and via www.mobilespeedtest.com. Run the 1MB file to test. If you get somewhere in the 1500 to 1800 kbps range you are doing good. I would say that with Sprint featuring the fastest 3G network of all providers (according to independent test articles) you should find no speed difference.

Tethering works like a charm, just did it an hour ago. Are you using WMWifiRouter? Are you using a cooked ROM?

As I said, you have to compare apples to apples. When we compare speed we generally state download speed, and to make the comparison truly "same" it is arrived at by going to the site www.mobilespeedtest.com and using the 1 MB file for download. Run the test a few times and average out the findings, let us know the average number mobilespeedtest.com reports.

If your actual data speed is around 3800kbps that translates roughly to around 400kbps download speed. If that is the case you will actually find data speeds to be faster on the Boost CDMA network than what you currently have.

Wow! I just did a speed test on my Samsung Exclaim running on boost CDMA in NYC.

    "Your speed : 5000 kbps
    Your latency: 1.342 seconds
Transferred 100 KB in 0.16 seconds

as i said, its been working fine for months.... then all of a sudden i get home and i now get the error 67 message.... while using internet sharing direct from the phone (no cooked rom, nothing aftermarket)
Then i try to use wm wifi router and it works fine for about 10 minutes then it drops off.... each and every time..!! no matter which way i use it (usb, bluetooth or wifi) it drops after 10 minutes.

Have you considered a "hard reset" (after backing up your stuff with PPCPimBackup or equivalent, of course.) Then reload your apps and see if that fixes the issue? Given that you have a Mogul I would strongly suggest using a cooked ROM on your phone to gain extra memory, speed and battery life. There are a few I found that are excellent, provide lots of enhancements without any downsides (I use Ryanmogul's 2.1 Light ROM, but there are other good ones out there as well.)

I also suddenly started to get the error 67 message this afternoon. No idea why or what's going on. I have no internet connectivity currently.

I'm using a cooked ROM, no strange or excessive usage, and no tethering.

hmm interesting.... im not the only one

something tells me this is NOT a phone issue.... read this from another forum

"I haven't had one bit of trouble with it. Until now that is. Last night I encountered error code 67. Two hours earlier I was able to access the web fine, but now...the error comes out. I was assured by Sprint Support that there were a great many outages in my area, but they were all supposed to be resolved."
