    Wet Phone. Need help!

This is my first time here. I've search the forums, and found no answers Here's the facts: SE W580i gets dropped in tap water. I get it out. Dry it with the hair dryer and the leave it on the dryer for a a day or 2. Turn it on and all it shows is a white/gray/blob scren, no distinct figures coming on at all. I think its the screen so I replace it. No help. Did I turn it on while damp? Possible ...I'm hoping You Guys Out There got an answer. Thanks, Jerry

    Wet Phone Issue

Well it looks like you need to replace your phone. If you had to dry it with a hair dryer, it must have been pretty wet. If you have phone insurance you might be able to get another one.

If you slide your w580i open, inside with the colourful LED lights you see a motherboard! And chips

Basically this phone is very UN-resistant to water...

Time to move on... if you still like it, craigslist for another w580i, I'm sure you can find a new one under 100.
    Arr~

as long as that didn't change color, you may be able to go to your carrier or SE for repair.... if it's within the warranty time. Just do NOT mention water at all!!

The phone is done I am afraid the silica get will take out a small amount of water only, slight moister it can handle.. but thats about it. I had a coworker get her phone wet, she did not turn it on and we placed it into a oven we have for part testing 50 C 0% humidly for a day.. and no luck. it is hit and miss.. a poster is correct just get another handset .
