Mingo Wireless: Yet another Verizon mvno: but no unlimited

    Stumbled across this . http://www.mingowireless.com/

Another Verizon mvno prepaid but no unlimited plans, just minute ones with text/ data too. They have a Moto Q Verizon mvno compatible for $59.
Takes their own phones but like most mVZnos allows Vz phones on their network .

Seems a bit more hold the customer by the handish then PPC.

Data is fairly expensive. Still no good prepaid data option for heavy users.

Their coverage map shows the post paid Verizon map with no mention of roaming charges. I wonder if that is a mistake.

Looks interesting. I sent them a list of questions. We'll see how long it takes to get a reply.

Their phones are actually reasonable priced. Wonder how much effort to get them to run on Page Plus? LOL.

Answering my own question, I emailed them and got a very fast response. This is what they said about the coverage:

    1) mingoFlex plans: (per minute plan) uses the Verizon "prepaid" coverage footprint.

    2) mingoPlus plans (prepaid monthly): uses the entire Verizon Wireless nationwide footprint (same as contract plans).

I also found out that call forwarding is included in their features.

Okay, in the Phones Section they show three phones at the top as part of their banner ad about "Great phones at a great price". Those 3 phones are an iPhone, Nokia N95, and what is probably a HTC Touch Pro/Diamond. Well, at least ONE of them is a CDMA phone. Touche'!

This would be amazing if only if you could mix n match; e.g, combine a text plan and/or web plan with the pay as you go voice minutes.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they are selling it this way.

This is definitely a step in the right direction. Prepaid data is still getting cheaper. However, the per MB price NEEDS to go down. $59/100MB is not going to cut it when you can get AT&T's 100MB/$20. If we got it down to 30˘/MB or below... now we're talking.

I sent them an email and got a very fast respond. I also used their online chat feature with good results.

    Here are some of their responses;

    1. Mingo Wireless started about 6 months ago, but we've been in in the prepaid wireless telecom industry for over 6 years.

    2. Customer Service is based in Santa Fe Springs, CA. In most cases, wait times are less than 1 minute. Customer service wait times are something we monitor very closely. We also have live chat support during our customer service hours of 8PM - 5PM, 7 days a week. (I have not tried to call them.)

    3. Yes, out of network roaming service is available at $0.69 cents per minute.

I like that! If PPC could even approach that, they would demolish Tmobile.
