    Jet1000...one was a "word" attachment, the other PDF? If this phone doesn't have the capabilities, why does it put it in the e-mail?

    Also, is it safe to have the download limit set to "no limit", or should I put it back to 10KB like it was (or can I set it higher?).

    Thanks again.

    Did you download the latest Sony Ericsson Update Service? If so, does that recognize your phone? Run Update Service, follow the instructions. It will ask you to hold the c key and plug in the USB cable. Then it will check to make sure you have the latest firmware. If that recognizes your phone, then try a2uploader again. Update Service may have a Windows 7 compatible driver that will get installed when you run it.

    Also what is the date of the version of a2uploader that you are running?

    The phone doesn't have any native software to read doc or PDF files. Perhaps they allow you to save it on the phone for people who would then want to transfer it to another device. Also, files like mp3 and jpg could be saved onto the phone and used immediately by the phone.

    As for the download limit it's up to your personal preference. It will perhaps save you from long waits if you exclude emails over a certain size. Also you can conserve phone memory as well. I have a 4GB card, so I don't really have a need for the limit.

    Thank you for the attention. I was thinking about the firmware, I can't find it on the phone. The only thing I did was to download te lastest PC SUITE software, and it reconizes my phone right way. It also gives me an option to connect to the internet right way, with USB connected. I can't find the firmware update on the phone. I'm far from my main PC right now, do I check it on the PC ?

    I have the lastest version of a2uploader, however, I tried many past version. I believe its, 10/22/09 and I have installed "gordons drivers stuffs., don't even know what it is for.

    Again, don't know where to run the update services, can't find it on the phone. When I get home I'll try to find it on the pc suite software. This will be my last try. I didn't sleep well last night, was up untill 6:00AM, but I enjoy very much solving or trying to solve problems. Its a very good exercise for the brain and increase my pc knowledge at the same time. If this doesn't work, I will go tomorrow and get the tmobile dash, and star over.

    Definitely Dash 3G has better potential
    Dash 3G supports 7.2/2.0 HSPA
    TM717 only supports 3.6 HSDPA

    If you get used with Vista, Win 7 is definitely better; however, if you have tons of software running with XP, you may encounter problem with Win 7 (Windows version of Final Fantasy 7 is one of them).

    You'll get benefit with HSUPA (Dash 3G supports) in some areas, like I get with Pharos.

    are you sure that file you gave me in modified? because i didn't see anychange, on the bluetooth settings, I still can't connect with archos 5 for tethering. I investigated the xml file a bit, and there is almost nothing about bluetooth. I'm trying to tether using DUN and or PAN bluetooth prolife.

    "<item id="2">
    <name>BlueTooth_Settings</name>
    <type>standard-item</type>
    <vendor-name>no-name</vendor-name>
    <entry-point>no-name</entry-point>
    </item>
    <item id="3">
    <name>FileManager</name>..." I did found some difference between your older file, it says: bluetooth settings, LOCKEDITEM, and I changed it but still I can't connect. I'm think by now, thhat's alimitation on the bluetooth on my device. "Archos 5 Internet tablet.
    And that is as good as it gets. So, tomorrow, I will get the HTC and see how things goes. Thank you very much for all the help.

    That part of the customize.xml file is only putting in a setting for the bluetooth shortcut that is on the shortcut menu. It doesn't have anything to do with bluetooth operation. Locked item, just means you can't delete or move the shortcut from the menu.

    What error did you receive when you tried to connect? What phone number were you dialing in the dial up networking?

    You have to pair the tablet to the phone.
    You select bluetooth modem as the modem for the dial up connection.
    Then you should dial *99***1#

    What happens when you do this? What does the phone do? What does the tablet do? You didn't post many details, you just said it didn't work.

    On the tablet, it says unable to connect with the device. On the phone, when I click to find services supported by the tablet, it says only: remote control and audio gateway something like that, nothing else..
    I set it to dial on the VPN box: *99#, also tried internet2 and 3 .voicestream, but it says unable to tether using that device. On the other hand, I connected the phone via bluetooth to my laptop, and it worked like a charm, the 3G its really broadband, I could watch youtube and everything, it was 732kbps, download, perfe ct combination for my archos, if only it would work. Botoon line: everything posted here works. I'm just out of lucky.

    If the dash is really faster, I could watch youtube HD without buffering, buffering, buffering....
