Has anyone figured out how to turn the keypad backlighting on? I get no backlighting at all. You can see in the picture how the T707's keypad lights up:



Is it only for T707? Does anyone else having keypad backlighting (even if it's just white and uncoloured)? And if yes, how can I turn them on?

(I followed the modification wiki instructions and there were no problems.)

I have never had those circles around the keys light up either. The two arcs on each side of the navigation pad do light up and they look like they are made of the same material as the rings around the keys.

dam been a long time. Ok so deleting da desktop hook 2 in tpa/prestet/system worked it now goes to internet instead of the my akount.jar. Now i kant find the desktop hook 1 any help?

I've added the data line to my T-mobile account and it is working. I now want to activate tethering.

I've downloaded the "tools needed" files from the "wiki". This provided me with the files TM 717 mod files.zip and a2uploader.rar. The "wiki" instructions tell me to run ggsetup.exe. I must be missing a step or something. I don't see any files to run.

You probably need to decompress the rar file. If you've never worked with them here's some info:

My phone doesn't have a desktop hook 1. What are you trying to use it to do?

Here was what was in a desktop hook 1 that came off of a T707 from an Australian carrier. Maybe you can modify it to what you need:

I've tried getting the file a2uploader.rar from the Wiki and decompressing it twice. When I decompress
a2uploader.rar, I'm getting the error - Data error in 'a2uploader.exe' File is broken.

I downloaded a fresh copy of 7-Zip v4.65. Then I downloaded the a2uploader from the wiki link. I opened 7-Zip and went to the folder that contained the rar file. I selected it, clicked Extract. It confirmed which directory I wanted it decompressed to.

Then after it was done, I was able to run both the a2uploader file as well as the ggsetup file.

If you're still having trouble, I can just post the decompressed files themselves.

At work, we have Winzip Pro 11.1. I tried to extract a2uploader.rar with it, I get "Error: CRC mismatch in file 'a2uploader.exe' in the archive." (which is the source file that I downloaded from the Wiki, a.k.a. a2uploader.rar)

Thanks for your assistance Jet. I will try to re-install 7-Zip at home and try the whole process again tomorrow.

In both cases, it appears that IE7 doesn't like the rar file. Firefox did the trick. a2uploader connects my laptop to the Equinox.

The Customize.xml listed under "Sony Ericsson Equinox Modification" Equinox mod files is dated 1/10/2010. Is there a more current file available? My Equinox was replaced by T-Mobile recently. I really only want to turn on the data tethering.
