I am going to be getting a Droid in a few days and I was wondering if anybody could tell me what I will need to do to transfer my custom wallpapers from my LG Dare to the Droid. Thanks for any and all help.

Putting the pictures in any folder on your micro SD card will make them available as wallpaper (though there is a DCIM folder for pictures). However, because of the difference in screen resolutions your Dare wallpapers will look tiny on the Droid. It's best to start fresh.

I tried to resize a few of the pictures just to see how they would look and they came out a bit fuzzy at least on the computer. Once I get the new phone I might move a few of them over just to see how they look. Shame to lose my custom wallpapers, but I guess that is life. Thanks for the advice.

Kind of figured as much. I think when you have to blow something up it just does not look the same.

if you want to resize something, do it with a program that has resizing algorythms like irfanview or gimp or photoshop, and use a spline setting, resize larger than needed for the droid so you can crop it to the correct dimensions

do not do a simple zoom,

I have to admit that I am not very knowledgeable about this stuff and I was wondering if this is something I could do in the Paint.net program. Thanks for the advice.

When you go to select the wallpaper do you drag the orange box to the sides to make sure to get the whole picture displayed and not just one portion?

Just because you love your phone doesn't mean we're all going to take our clothes off!
