Needed to do a Hard Reset yesterday but couldn't access the phone OS, searched around a found out how to do a hard reset without using software:

1. Power off phone
2. Use hardware keyboard
3. Press and hold the 'X' key and Power button until you see a screen with an exclamation point inside a triangle
4. Press and hold the Volume Up key then press the Camera button (I had to do this twice) to get menu screen (Linux back-end becomes VERY apparent here)
5. Using the D-pad, select one of the Wipe options (specifically Wipe Data/Factory Reset)
6. Confirm your selection and wait for it to complete
7. Reboot the device

Silly question....

If I have a text message or a call coming in, is there a way I can mute the ringtones so I don't have to hear them play in their entirety? Preferably something I could to in my pocket would be nice.

Hi, I made a folder on my home screen with all my speed dials.....is there anyway I can rename the folder to say "Speed Dials"...it just says folder. I haven't been able to find a way. Thanks for any help.

This is definitely something I wish was possible, but I really don't think it is. The volume rocker really should function better when the phone is locked, to silence incoming notification/call sounds, or to illuminate the screen.

Anyone gotten locked out of there phone yet? I let a friend play with mine and he did the unlock pattern too many times and it asks for my gmail account and password but it is saying it's wrong. So now I have no clue how to get back into my phone.

Have you tried a long press on the folder icon, or go into it, and press Menu to see if there are any settings options.

Never mind above - found it.

Open the folder, then long press on the folder name at the top of the folder, opens a rename dialog.

Thank you...Thank you...you have to hold down on the folder name at the very top...then it comes up. Thank you so much. You have to accurately hit exactly where it says, "folder" for it to come up.

As of right now, there isn't any that works any better than what's default
Tried 'better keyboard' and it didn't make much of a difference, so i just type slower until i adjusted

Found out how to just do a hard reset. Didn't have to redo anything all settings and everything was saved with google so did a hard reset and kept my phone the exact same way

To do a hard reset turn the phone off. Open the keyboard and hold the x key while you turn the power on until you see a yellow triangle on the screen. After you see the triangle then hode the camera key and the volume up button until it goes to the data menu. Use the depad to select data reset. After its done reset the phone.

I thought that the CooTek keyboard looked really good, but it's off the Android Market for a few weeks while they are rolling out an OEM version w/an upcoming phone or phones, according to the forum on their web site.

I dont know about a text message, but pushing the down rocker during an incomming call silences the ringer, but does not send the call to voicemail.

make sur eyou have GPS satellites turned on. Its very accurate when you start moving.

Mine seemed to be really bad at first but then after a few hours it learned its way around. I can walk around my back yard and view the satellite image and its perfectly on, might even be closer than my garmin. My guess is it needed some time to update the satellite alaminac (firefox doesn't seem to know the correct spelling for that).
