Hopefully, someone playing with this thing can help me out. Verizon tech had no clue..

I absolutely need my Outlook contacts, emails, and calendar on my phone. I do NOT have access to the Exchange server to sync. The only way I can sync is via ActiveSync, over a USB cable tied to my laptop (or via bluetooth). Does the droid have a sync program on it, that when plugged into a computer running outlook (the actual email program) that will sync contacts (those in my outlook address book), emails and calendar?

try to sync to google...
save .csv file...then upload to google contacts, calendar etc.

or just d/l google sync

Don't want to go the .csv round. Don't want to have to do that every time I add or change a contact (which is way too often).

Problem w/ google sync is, I'm not going to put all of my corporate emails up on google's servers. Need to keep the information between my computer and my phone.

Looks like this could be a deal breaker for me.

Okay, facebook sync joined wrong profile to my brother. I split it off, but now can't add the correct one. Any tips?

sorry I don't know then...

when I play a song in the built in media player...the volume is very low...even at full blast. It's not even close to how the curve was. I had to turn the curve down and could have on outside and be fine...anybody else's like this? or maybe my speaker is defective bc I thought I read a review that said the speaker was excellent

Battery Tips:

Want to extend your battery life? Try these:
• To turn off automatic applications sync, touch
Menu > Settings > Accounts & sync.
• To turn off Bluetooth power, touch Menu

While these obviously help, using the menu from Settings>About Phone>Battery Use I see that the screen uses much more battery than everything else.

Does the Droid have the ability to disable data usage (over cell network) but continue to use Wifi? Like a wifi only mode?

If yes, when in "wifi only mode" can you still receive and send text messages?

if evdo is off wouldn't it then revert down to the 1x network?

Messaging should come through on only a 1X connection but whenever I try to use just 1X for texts it seems slower on my Storm.

How do I enable Mass Storage mode for the SD card. Im using a mac and when I plug it in all the phone does is charge, it's not mounting the SD card on my computer...Any ideas?

option has to be enabled on phone..look for mount in menu

Try the suggestions in that thread. If not it might be a driver issue? I don't really know.
