i don't know for sure, i would think that if your cell phone clock/time changes then your alarms/reminders should activate according to the phone time. If know knows for sure call verizon tech.

Well, I figure that the time on my phone will change automatically, as I have the time set for auto update through the network. However I just don't know if that will cause my calendar to adjust my reminder times as well.

I guess I'll wait for an answer until tomorrow, then call tech support tomorrow and see if they have an answer.

    Thanks again.

According to Verizon Tech support, the time will auto update on my phone, but the scheduled reminders on the calendar should remain the same.

Hopefully this will help someone else trying to figure out the same question.

And I'll see if it really works next weekend.

I would think the reminders will go off at the time they were originally set to go off. If they are set to go off at noon time Eastern on Friday, then they should go off at noon time Eastern, even if you are in Sydney.

That's how calendar programs generally work, isn't it? At least if they are functioning correctly.

No, they should be based on local time; just like your phone and plane schedules and the car rentals, etc. If they weren't, there would be mass confusion and a lot of missed appointments.

I got the Droid 2 today. It's my first smart phone. I hope this is the right place to ask my noob questions.

First, is there a way to categorize a gmail contact so it appears on Phone contact list? It seems I can only add items to this list and can't edit an existing contact to appear here. Yesterday I uploaded a vcf with all my Voyager contacts to gmail and now these won't sync via bluetooth to my car stereo contacts list. Only the contacts labeled as 'phone' come over to my car stereo.

Second, is there a way to have all the apps I download appear on the All Apps list. I can find them via the Widgets screen. Is there a way to get my Pandora, NPR, etc to appear with the pre-loaded apps?

    Thanks,
    Janet

I believe it does that, and much more. And you can backup all that personalization too. And it is free?

I wasn't sure how this forum worked. I do know that I haven't figured out how to change text notifications from individual contacts like I could with my bb tour. I would think that with this being a far more advanced phone that u would b able to do that!so if anyone knows of how to do this, please post instructions on this thread!

I already answered. Use the WhoIsIt app I posted a link to - that app is free, and it does just what you want.

Ok. Here's an update. I downloaded the "WhoIsIt" app, and had to get the paid version. No big deal, as its only a couple of bucks. However, now whenever I get a text I not only hear the message alert set for the specific contact, but also hear the message tone that's set as the default message tone. I've went into the SMS settings and set the SMS notification tone to silent. yet it still keeps playing it. I turned the phone off and back on, and it still does it. ANY IDEAS? What am I doing wrong?

    Hey all,

Not sure where to ask this: I have a MetroPCS flashed Droid, but I love the new Verizon prepaid plans and would like to return the phone to its Verizon roots. I can make all the APN changes myself, but there are some NV items that were overwritten in the process and I'm uncertain how to restore them. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you set the messaging notifications to silent? The notification setting under general settings isn't for messaging. To set the messaging notification ringtone to silent you need to open the messaging app then go to settings.
