As a side note, I got PDANet working on XP32 bit. You need to download the drivers from motorola, http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v/...008806b00aRCRD I got the mobile phone USB Drivers. Install that first then install PDANet. I found my phone and I was able to connect after launching PDANet on the phone.

No, you can disable the cellular radio and continue to use wifi and bluetooth, if that's what you want. It's just not obvious.Originally Posted by Smuuth
Download an application called AnyCut. It allows you to make shortcuts. Click on "New Shortcut", select "Activity", and then select "Phone Info".
A new shortcut on your desktop will appear to the Phone Info application. Phone Info is a built-in application, but it doesn't show up in the app list.
Then, when you click on the "Phone Info" shortcut, scroll down to the bottom and there is a "Turn off radio" button. That will turn off the cellular radio and allow you to continue using wifi and bluetooth. I found this useful on an airplane that had Wifi.
I should note that I've done this in Android 1.6 on an Google ADP1 phone, but I haven't done it on a Droid yet. I suspect that it should work fine.

If you use the lock pattern, you can't access the Slide to Silence or slide to Loud feature?
EDIT:
Also how do you make it so when you tap E-Mail it refreshes all the e-mail instead of going to each mailbox and manually refreshing it? I click refresh now and it says long tap to refresh a mailbox. Is there anyway to make it so like the iPhone when you press E-Mail it refreshes all your mailboxes. And I don't want to set it to auto-check it since that will drain battery life.
Thanks

What settings are you using to set up your hotmail account? I am going to need this info to set up my g/f's phone when I get her the Droid to replace her Blackberry.
Anyone know if this works or how to do...a pause would seem to not be possible as what key do you then hit (typically you hit "send" again) and the phone does not have that key when in call mode??????
Tap the "menu" key while in the dialpad, you can add a 2-sec pause or a wait.Originally Posted by jiholl
Regarding media files:
-To play audio open up your application panel and go to "Music". To play video OR view pictures, open up app panel and go to "Gallery".
-Media formats supported: AAC, H.263, H.264, MP3, MPEG-4, WAV, WMA, eAAC+, OGG, AMR WB, AMR NB, AAC+, MIDI.
-Yes you can play video from the SD card. In fact, it would be pretty hard to play from the phone memory because it only has 512MB. Just stick 'em in a folder and they'll be automagically found.
Something I'm trying to figure out is how to view my media in a folder-tree view. Right now all my pictures are being jumbled together (I want to separate my wallpaper images from my personal images and then organize the personal images, etc.). I get a long list of bottom level folders, so I end up with a wallpaper folder named (friend's name) and a picture folder named (friend's name) so it gets confusing...
Also, I can't figure out how to add/select personal notification tones. Ringtones are easy, just go to the media player and it has an option to select as ringtone, but I can't seem to figure out how/if you do that for e-mail/SMS/MMS notifications. I REALLY hope there's a way.

Did anyone figure this out by any chance?Originally Posted by davemanster

Yes, you have to press an on-screen button if using a "wait" as opposed to a "pause."
Do you mean setting ringtones for specific contacts? That can be done from clicking the Menu key when the contact is open, then selecting Options. You can set a ringtone there.Originally Posted by SlowMotionKarma
Is it possible to email a ringtone to the phone a save it?
