happens automatically if you stick a card in, I believe. It comes with the card in the phone already though. You don't have to do anything.

For people trying to get Yahoo IMAP to work... you could just set up your Yahoo account to forward to your Gmail account.

How in the world do you "mark all previous read" in the GMail app? I woke up this morning with 12 e-mails, which I just have to go through clicking each one, is there anyway I can mark them all read?

So, for email vibrate alert, click on Email. For texts, click on Messaging. Etc.
This seems crazy, every phone I have owned you could put everything on vibrate pretty quickly. To have to go into everything and do it seperately seems crazy. What is the reason for this?

For those using IMAP email is there a way to move emails to folders? I can see my folders and look at older emails in them, but I cannot see where you can move emails in you inbox to them. My Moto Q9C had this option so I quite suprised it would not be available here. It makes it convenient to be able to do it on your phone then have to always do it on a desktop.

You can put everything on vibrate at one with the volume rocker on the side of the phone.

Who knows. That is how the designers set up the UI. At least they didn't leave out the functionality. Plus, that's why there are app's. So if you don't like what the manufacture/carrier came up with, you can change it up.

This does not work because I did that, but it only effect Calls. It puts everything else in silent mode.

If you have texts set to a tone and to vibrate, when you put the phone in silent via the rocker, doesnt the text still vibrate?

EDIT: yes, it does still vibrate

This may be a bit out there, but is it possible to force calls to my number to go to my google voice for voice mail? Their voice mail transcription is simply amazing and I hate having to listen to people's VMs haha

You can assign a direct dial to a keyboard shortcut. Once assigned you launch the shortcuts by pressing the "search" key (magnifying glass icon) and the assigned key at the same time.

    1. First get into the quick launch menu via Settings -->Applications --> Quick Launch

    2. Touch the letter you want to assign the shortcut to which will launch a menu to select the application that you want to run with the key.

    3. On that screen press the "menu" touch key and select "shortcuts"

    4. Select "Direct Dial" and then select then select the contact that you want to associate with the key.

Coming from a BlackBerry I find this to be an acceptable work around. Now if I could only start typing a contact to move through my 1200 contacts quicker.
The problem with this is the label doesn't show the full name of the person, so I don't know who I'm calling. I can't figure out a way to edit the name label at the bottom of the icon.
