    I'm still kind of uncertain about one thing though. We are not yet at our 18 month for our service on our current contract from our last equipment upgrade. We'll be a couple weeks short of the 18 months by the BF sale. would we be able to get the sale prices for the phones and just renew early? I thought I saw that some people here were able to call and upgrade early before.

    there's the usual fine print about the required data plans and it shows the website and a phone number with the note "Mention Promo Code 4Day09" So I assume you would be able to put in that code online to get the discount with new service through the website.

    I haven't recieved the add but does it say whether or not it applies to people who have already purchased there phone within the 30 days?

    The Quantico is already in stores. It does not require data, unless you want the rebate. The $9.95 EE, $14.95 Mobile Internet, and $24.95 Unlimited Messaging and Mobile Internet packages qualify on single lines, as does the $49.95 Unlimited Family Messaging and Mobile Internet package, if you're on a Family plan.

    Depends on which phone you're getting. Premium and smartphones require the data package regardless, but with regular dumbphones you can skip EE and forego the rebate.

    So let's see if I am clear on this - a data plan is required on smartphones as is the case now. By saying free regular phone they mean the listed price with the EE rebate will be waved/rebated but the EE $50 discount is payable if you decline. So a straight $100-200 phone with the standard discount will be only $50 without EE and Free if you add EE which will cost you at least $30 for the minimum 3 months. Since I was looking at paying $150 for a Quantico it still is a nice savings at $50.. do I understand the details of this correctly?? If I buy early but within a few weeks then I should get a credit for the price I overpaid....

    Based on the info in this thread, it's quite simple. One of 3 scenarios would apply:

    1) Penny phones would remain a penny. As usual, data is not required to qualify for this pricing.
    2) Regular and Premium phones would be $50.
    3) Smartphones would be $70.

    Premium and smartphones will still require the appropriate data plan, so you'd automatically qualify for the rebate. Regular phones do not require data, unless you want the rebate. If you do want the rebate, any EE package (single or family) will qualify, and is required for 3 months.

    Will the option of upgrading to a smartphone from a dumbphone that you have had for 12 months apply with the black friday thing? Or is the upgrade to smarphone for a certain time?

    Iguana- i would call a few days before thanksgiving and speak to customer relations (they handle early upgrades) and tell them you are having issues with your phones and would really appreciate it if you can upgrade early. then you just go into a store and they can do it. This avoids a long wait instore. they will look at your payment history, how long you have been a customer etc and determine if a early upgrade is plausible.

    Thanks for the info. We've been with them for 3.5 years so I would hope that they could do something for us. Is there a direct number to customer relations or just us the regular customer support number?
