No offense but there is nothing USCC can do about that. I don't think anyone could have predicted how popular this sale would be, and because of that they are bound to run out of their most popular phones.
I beg to differ... no other stores offer price matching during Black Friday sales, and if USCC hadn't, then there would have been more phones out there. Add to it, that they should have been better stocked... Having 3 in a store is not enough to even get close to meeting the needs of the company. And that some people get the deal still, while others aren't offer... it gives me a dim view of their practices. I'm glad some people are still able to get them, but for me, after getting hosed on overages over the summer due to their error and getting screwed on the last phone I got through them and now this... I'm done...
Side note... how long does it take to port your number from USCC? Looks like I'm going to go with WalMarts service. There's no point in paying so much for service that I can get for $30 cheaper through WalMart. I was going to be investing in a $25/month data plan... now, they've lost a customer sine 1999...

Not long at all, just be sure to initiate the port from Wal-Mart's side.
My local store only had one Touch Pro 2, and at 9am Friday there were 20 people in line, so forget that. I may end up getting a BB Tour, which should be a good upgrade from my Curve. I like my Curve, but it just seems very laggy. Since the Tour has much more memory, I'm hoping it's a smoother running phone. If I remember right, I couldn't trade in a phone I got during this sale for a Touch pro 2 within the 30 days, right?

Thanks. I've ported VOIP before and had it take forever... I'll be heading in to check out their phones later next week. Also, since my billing is at the beginning of the month, do they pro-rate the month's service?

There have been many changes in the laws because of companies making several difficult rules and requirements for porting out a number assigned to their customers "for the protection of the customer." Now it normally takes less than 4 hours unless there is a glitch someplace.
I do remember the old days whan I worked for Qwest and porting a number was at least one week if not 2 or 3.
Of course you could just go with Google voice an then it really doesn't matter what phone line you are using since you can forward everything, but then you would need to notify everyone exisiting of the new number anyway so that is only truly feasible with new contacts. Plus, who knows if Google voice will stick around? You can't exactly sue a company you are getting a service for free from and expect a payment.

Simple ports generally do not involve more than one line or more complex adjustments to telephone switching equipment. Wireline, wireless, and interconnected Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) providers are required to meet this new, simple port deadline, which will take effect in late summer 2010 for most carriers. Small, rural carriers have a longer period, until the beginning of 2011, to meet the new porting deadline.

Yeah, I already have google voice. I use it for when I need to give out my phone number to companies to cut down on telemarketing... Don't want to loose a number I've had for over ten years though...
I think I am going to end up getting the crush for my wife. I would really like to get her a nice touchscreen, but an extra $25/mo so she can use Facebook is too much to pay. She'd never use any of the other stuff.

Keep in mind that smartphones are much more flexible, with tons of free apps out there that use data, alternative browsers, a fuller data experience, it gets addictive. When I had my BB, I was always using Pandora (streaming radio), and several other apps.

Exactly why I pulled the trigger on a TP2.
Sick of getting bored with phones after 6 months.
This coupled with the incredible price of free and a $50 service credit made it a no brainer.
my wife got the LG Banter 265 Friday she loves the key board on it for texting. i didn't realize until we had left the store that it didn't have EVDO but i don't think it will matter much my wife doesn't care much for the fancy stuff as long as she can text and take pictures she is happy.
