Just called CS to see when i was eligible to upgrade so i could get a Tour on Black Friday. I just renewed back in Feb so i'm not eligible but he told me of 2 other promotions in my area that are going on from 12/1-12/25. He said the promotions were for anybody, even if not eligible for upgrade. You can sign a new contract, even if not eligible, and get a smartphone 50% off plus rebate or buy one get one free plus rebates. I was a little confused at first and asked a couple times to make sure. I said i was not yet eligible so how could i sign a new contract and get a new phone and he said that is exactly what the promo was for, just to get people to uprade to the smartphones. I hope he knew what he was talking about.
In response to the 50% off or BOGO, is that 50% off retail, or 50% off of renewal price. I believe I will be eligible for renewal in December, trying to decide if I want to shorten my Thanksgiving trip for the BF special and beg for early renewal or just wait til December.
I would really like to know from an official source if the TP2 will be offered on BF special or not. I don't see why they can offer the Tour but not the TP2.

Well, as much as I want in included in the Black Friday sale I can understand why it's not in the ad. It's not even released yet so I guess they didn't want to risk putting it in the ad.
I haven't seen any ads in my local paper or on the web. Where are people finding these ads printed at?
Usually Black Friday ads show up in most Thanksgiving Day papers. Unless you work for the printing company, the newspaper, or USCC you wont see it till then unless someone does an adscan.

Sounds like that rep was confused. To get a discount on a phone, you have to have been 12 months since your last phone discount - if you have a regular (i.e. dumb) phone. If you already have a smartphone, you must be 18 months from your last phone discount.
While that may match your last renewal, it technically has nothing to do with your contract dates.
You can, however, get a used phone, and it will typically be up to 50% off retail. No rebate, however.
Do you think they will let people buy out their contracts early to participate in the Black Friday promo?
I don't think there will be special exceptions, but if you're eligible to buy out normally, you should have no problem. If you're 6 months since your last upgrade, then no.
Unknown at this time. However, it would be no problem to renew now for the plan, then renew for the phone later. The second contract will replace the first, so really, it would only be adding a month to your existing contract.
With USCC can't you change your rate plans at any time without signing a new contract?
