Ha! Okay, because it makes sense for me to post something like that here otherwise? Think outside the box, maybe, just maybe USCC isn't as dumb as you think. But hey why don't we try the 'wait and see' approach.

If USCC really would delay a promotion like this, one that will undoubtedly increase the number of smartphone users on their system and directly increase their data revenues, merely to punish a few employees then the powers that be at US Cellular are "dumb" (to use your words).

In another thread I posted some results from USCC's Q3 earnings call...their data revenues are up 34% over Q308. With this promotion they'll have to eat some subsidies in the front end but their ARPU is only up slightly to about $47. If they want to increase their ARPU they're going to have to rely heavily on data.

If they are indeed that stupid then maybe it's a good thing that Jay Ellison is leaving...or maybe Jay Ellison is leaving because they're that stupid.

Either way they would be damn fools and terrible businessmen to delay this promotion. Give me one good business reason to delay this promotion because it was leaked.

I'd bet that 50 of those views are my own refreshing it when a new post is added.

It makes me wonder how many different people are actually effected by this chatter . . . I'd expect in reality, only a few hundred different people are actually following the thread and only a smaller percentage of those are actually altering their buying decisions based on the info.

I've not changed a thing. Still buying the TP2 as soon as it comes out. $180 or free I don't care. Sure would be nice to get a deal but I've already budgeted this.

I jus ask her if i come in can I get a touch pro 2, for 70 dollars and get the rebate of 70 she said yes. I just got her repley about the Tour, same as Tp2, 70 dollars then rebate for 70. She also said got the flyer bring it in and you can get the promo price now. she works a corp store.

My thought was the flyer will come at such a lame time that it wouldn't make a difference any way. pick it up in the paper on thanksgiving day. maybe on the flyer it mentions something about a early sale if you received the flyer by mail. have a flyer please inform us. post it on here. I won't think its wrong until I see a flyer with my own eyes.

As far as any Black Friday ad leaks from USCC employees go, that has been discussed above.. there is a very good reason USCC employees are so cautious about how they do it. I'm sure USCC has a pretty good internal securtiy team that wouldn't have any problem tapping their servers to see if any [data] had been tranferred to a particular web site [where protected company info showd up] from a employee's smartphone.. such as phone numbers and other info. You say, "They have to have a warrant!" Not really, they don't ever have to admit to doing it, they just get rid of the employee for some other reason-- as most can be fired for virtually any reason. That's why USCC employees are so careful about how they [leak] info. I once worked for a county law enforcement agency where a dozen officers were badmouthing superiors and talking vulgarly about female employees via their computers... what they didn't know was that every Monday morning the computer techs would download the county's servers to hard copy files [servers that served all the county agencies]... they had a complete printed log of all the typed conversations [word for word] and the officers names / badge numbers and passwords who sent the messages [including times / dates..... we had a lot of job openings not long after that. Most resigned, as there are a lot of ways to screw with an employee they want to get rid of.

Apple, tried that think they learned a Big lesson that it wasn't worth being sued . Reasons humans talk and just like any office people will gossip and spread rumors. Including top security for uscc. Security tells a drinking buddy yea uscc is doing illegal wire taps. better yet top security guy is fired wants to get even calls up the Feds informs them of all this illegal surveillance is going down oh and by the way I kept all the evidence too. Everyone leaks from the top all the way down to the guy printing the flyers most leaks are intentional to get the customer base excited about a new product. The only time leaks are not intentional when say diagrams formulas or leaked. 007 type ****. LOL
