Are you able to send? Because I can send texts just not receive, they said due to the corrupt message holding up the queue. I tried the airport mode on and off no go. I'm also on my second iPhone, I replaced my first one the first week I had it but that did nothing so they can't tell me it's the phone.
Called Telus again same thing after being on hold 5 minutes "The issue you're having is affecting many telus customers not just you. If it was just you then it's 1-3 days to fix, but when its a major problem we don't have a date. We dont' know when it will be fixed because we dont' know how to fix the problem." So he gave me a $15 credit for my texting since that's what the plan costs, but he said no one can just make it work though.
no picture messaging was one thing... but i am going nuts with out normal texting too. telus keeps telling me that they will compensate AFTER the problem is fixed, and at this rate i am going to be making some steep demands. when people warned that there could be problems with a new network, i didnt think it could be this bad after three months...
My HSPA has been great it's just the texting. MMS has always sucked for me, even rebooting sometimes doesn't work. I remember once being at a party with friends and suddenly they started receiving all these pictures from me and were like what the hell and when I checked I had sent them a week before.
This is really the first issue I've had with texting though. Just bugs me because texting is all I do and I hate the fact people dont' know it's not working. It wouldn't be so bad if people got an auto reply saying "Message could not be delivered"!
This supposedly doesn't effect new accounts, right?
So maybe someone should insist that their account/line is collapsed and completely recreated. I know that sounds drastic, but I've heard of it being done for other problems and it would probably work.
My problem has nothing to do with CDMA. For anyone that got their iPhone when it was released, if you came from CDMA, everything worked EXCEPT being able to receive MMS. Both myself and my friend had to call, have a ticket open for a week then they fixed it, but even after they did it's still wonky, half the time I have to reboot my phone before the other person gets the MMS. My other friend who got his phone same day left it and never fixed it until 2 weeks ago. He called, but this time they wanted him to restore his iPhone 3 times so he did, erasing everything as they insisted he NOT back up. Still wouldn't work so he's had a ticket open for 2 weeks now on that.
For me, my texts stopped receiving 16 days ago. They said there's a message that's stuck in my queue holding all the other messages up but when they try to delete that message, they get an error and that error is a Telus wide problem that they're trying to fix, which supposedly is affecting multiple customers.
I don't even know what to do, I've called twice they said don't bother calling back that I'll get a text or a call when it starts working again and until that time there's nothing that anyone there can do. I'm getting so frustrated but not much I can do since they don't know how to fix it. I have no idea how long something like this should take..
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? The most frustrating part is they keep saying no one knows how to fix it so that I can talk to any manager I want no one can just fix it for me. It's not even a money thing, I just want the texts to work. They can give me $100 I could care less I just want my texts because that's all I use my phone for. I have 1 year left on my contract but still stuck anyway since I have the $65 plan but loyalty gave me the $15 text/caller ID plan for free when I got iPhone so no other carrier's plan even compares to mine. Is something like this grounds for breaking my contract though? I just don't know who I should call or talk to
Getting hit by the issue now... MMS used to work fine and all of a sudden I'm getting MMS sent to me over a week ago! Worst, some of them were sent by my wife (I know the number, mind you) and they appear to be coming from a totally unknown 416 number...
