Simply put, this is awesome! Verizon, Motorola, and Google should be commended on how quickly they responded to customer complaints and fixed the issue. This is in huge contrast to the half ***** way RIM dealt with all the Storm problems. One more reason why I'm glad I ditched my Storm!
I couldn't agree more! Events like this is what will keep me loyal to google and motorola
I used to only be able to take blurry shots with the droid, but I tried out my camera this morning and it is focusing now with green corners! awesome!! Very happy with this update.
Mine gets green corners all the time now. Focus does still seem to be a bit soft but definitely better than before. I dunno if I like this 'whole stealth update without telling me' thing though. Who knows what else was fixed or if this was the only thing that got fixed. Either way, it should be reflected in the software version... >_>
Same here. My bars were always red and now theyre green. BUT it still took good pictures even though the bars were red. I dunno..not sure I care for a sneaky update either as my Gmail all the sudden stopped working till I just rebooted.
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” -- Thomas Jefferson, 1802
Well I read this thread and was thrilled. Took a great picture of our new hardwood floors, green corners and all.
Awesome!
Except when I go to send the pic to my wife, the mms fails with the invalid address message. I already fixed that problem once. Don't know if the camera fix bugged that out again or what.
I always had red corners before but now I have green ones every time. I took a few comparison pictures and I can't tell the difference but the lighting is bad here. I'll have to take some outside shots later to see how it's doing.
The build number would be the OS build I'm guessing. Since 'Camera' is basically just an app....I imagine that could be updated without messing with the rest of the OS
Red before Green now I have green ones every time. I took a few pictures today and the inside pics seem a tad better but the outside pics at a distance of 3-10 feet are beautiful. I don't see any difference in the pics outside at a greater distance though.
I have noticed that the focus locks in very quickly.
I took some pics on a camping trip this weekend mostly at night and they were horrid, so bad that the guys I was camping got a chuckle.
I am guessing the fix would have had to be after last Saturday night (the 14th),
Thanks for the nice post. I was just about to ask, too--it seems like everyone went from ~10% to 100%--if there was an actual impact in photo quality, or if they just "pretended" to green focus so people wouldn't notice the issue as much. But those photos prove it, the difference in clarity in those shots is like night and day.
You have just sold a Droid on behalf of Verizon. Go ask them for commission.
