So i guess lets get some answers.

Who here is having the problem with consistent reboots/hang ups, and who isn't? Does ANYONE have a droid that hasn't had any freezes and hang ups? Should the people with these problems return their phones for a new one, or wait until some patch comes out.

Because from what it sounds like, some people are having really simple problems (camera sucking, gmail sending texts) and some people are having really serious problems (constant freezing and rebooting) So I'm assuming that this is more of a 50/50 split. It doesn't sound like this is a software problem otherwise everyone would be having this problem. I'm not really sure what's going on, but I think i'll be going to the verizon store tomorrow to get a new Droid.

I am having the reboot / reset issue. Camera issues as well, no problem with gmail sending texts though. Factory wipe likely tomorrow after work. EDIT: screw that, just rebooted again as i was trying to unlock it. factory wipe NOW.

Here is the hw / sw info for my Droid:
    software info:

    Firmware version 2.0

    Baseband Version C_01.3B.01P

    Kernel version
    2.6.29-omap1-g04df51f android-build@apa26 #477

    Build number
    ESD20

    hardware info:

    40/09

Fifteen minutes ago my droid did a full reboot AGAIN. this time i wasn't even using it, it was just sitting locked. In a random twist my DVR (also made by Motorola) rebooted at the exact same time.

Is there any way to prevent the corporate calendar from automatically running in the background? I only use google calendar and I keep killing the corporate calendar and it just shows up again in the list of running apps after a little bit.

    impressed.

I don't own this phone but i'm kind of impressed with the fact that there has been a whole lot of these sold...And there is only 5 pages of complaints! I'm thinking thats pretty good!

You all may have a winner here! Good luck.

Did you have a "dumbphone" before getting the droid? If so, were you signed up for "mobile email"?

If you were, then you need to call VZ customer service and have them remove the mobile email account (they have a tool)

The mobile email is trying to continue to send you your emails...and it does this as text messages.

Had this issue with mine yest. and its all good now.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.0; en-us; Droid Build/ESD20) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

One of the problems I'm having is that the Droid is slow to sync my primary Gmail account when on Wifi. I have a Gmail notifier running on my laptop that makes an audible sound whenever a new message is received.

When my Droid is on Wifi, it lags behind my laptop in notifying me of new messagees anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes.

If I turn off Wifi, the Droid receives messages at the same time, or sometimes even before my laptop.

Is anyone else having this issue??

I called Verizon. They tried to remove the mobile email via the tool but it wouldn't work. The CS rep said she would have to forward it to a different department to fix it on the back end. Said they will shoot me a text or give me a call when it's resolved. Thanks to all for the info.

I picked up my Droid at 8am on Friday morning and it has been running great since then!

    No Freezing/Rebooting
    Camera works great

I'm no super user but I have downloaded some apps from the Market, used the browser and the apps extensively as well as email.

I don't have a complicated email set up...just a gmail and some verizon accounts (no work) and I don't have a calendar to import.

I took 30+ photos yesterday when we were bowling w/ the kids. Green corners every time and the only blurry shots were because the kids moved (as kids often do!).

My hubby was out of town until yesterday so I waited until he came back to set up the WiFi. He's a network engineer and our router is locked down. He had a bit of trouble getting it to work but figured it out (and complained LOUDLY about a lack of any kind of manual w/ real info ...the PDF one didn't help much either) and it is working fine as well.

I'm either super lucky or all the people w/ non-buggy phones just don't post at HoFo!

I should add that my coworker picked one up on Friday morning and she hasn't had issues either. It did freeze once on her last night and she had to do a battery pull...but other than that she's had no problems.

ETA...I haven't actually used the Droid as a phone much yet (4 calls since I was home all weekend) but so far they seem great too. Sound is good and no hang ups. My husband and I constantly had connection issues between his Razr and my BB Pearl before this and that doesn't seem to be happening.

Oh and I this post jinxes me you are ALL in trouble!

    Facebook Sync Issues

I have facebook set up to sync with my existing contacts and its updated my contacts with profile pictures, added a facebook link and added a facebook section in the contact with phone numbers and email.

The problem is that for some of my contacts there are multiple facebook links I can click on to open up their profile page, up to 4 on some contacts. Some of my friends have their cell phone number listed 8,9 times in the facebook contact info section. Anyone experiancing this? Know how to fix it? Thx

My Google Voice is set to refresh ever 5 minutes. Why don't I get notified I have a new voicemail until 20 minutes after it was left? Ugh, things like this just make me have to tend to the phone so often, to see what missed texts, voicemails, etc. it's not notifying me of.

Purchased Friday morning and have been using consistently with only one problem: on Saturday night my Droid just died, no power, wouldn't turn on, wouldn't reboot. Removed and reinserted the battery, restarted, and all was well, but it was a bit unnerving.
