I feel like after the upgrade to 2.2 my battery life decreased. I dimmed the background light, set the screen to turn off in 10 seconds, made sure the power options that everything is off and killed tasks. Anyone else have a similar issue?
If ignorance is bliss and patience is a virtue, you'll have a good life if your dumb enough to wait.
Today my M 1 droid decided to loose all contacts and call log. Now I can not restore my contacts nor can I create a new on. Any ideas? Email jerryk @ jbsaddlery.com
Iv had my droid since December 5 2009. It droid worked fine up until the update to 2.2. After that it never turned back on and I received a "like new" replacement. The moment I got my 2nd droid I noticed a lot of problems. The audio would cut out mid call the, camera would take pictures that were all black, and the performance was drastically reduced. I could not connect to wifi and it would repeatedly auto reboot. It forced close on Google search, Google maps, and in mid messaging. Once even 10 times in one hour. I called technical support and talked to three different people and I was told to call a # to reprogram the phone. Restart the phone and take out the battery by every one of them! This is stuff I that iv done myself so I was sent my 3rd droid that’s my 2nd "like new" replacement phone. I’m still haven reoccurring problems such as constant force closes, auto reboots, and now lost texts too. Iv reset my droid to factory settings and my phone got faster for a week. I’m back to were I was before I did the restore and Verizon is willing to send me another "like new" phone but there more out to try to get me to upgrade mid contract. Also when I called Verizon for my replacement phone i told them I wanted a new phone not a “like new” one. The guy “that would not give me his name” told me that he could send me the “like new” phone that I could use temporally because with the plan that I have I would get a free upgrade to “any phone that I wanted for free” on December 5 2010. Witch was not true! Do any “like new” replacement phones live up to the new phones?

Hate to be the voice of reason here, amidst an ongoing insanity caused by Verizon; however: To answer your question, I will give you a little recap of my experience with the Droid1:
11 (THAT'S RIGHT, ELEVEN) IN 10 (YES TEN) MONTHS
I finally walked into the store with crapped out replacement they had sent me which had obvious rust in the headphone jack in one hand, and several documents from Sprint wireless, T-Mobile, and Cricket, all in the other... I asked to pay my bill...
At this point the Cust service rep asked how my service was doing as he had noticed competitors pamphlets in my hand... I advised him that it was a topic he best not approach if he intended on ending his day on a positive note, especially considering the telesales tech support person I had spoke with an hour prior (prompting the trip to the mall) had ended with him stammering, dumbfounded (the guy didn't know **** about the phones... I will admit, as a former call center manager and a mobile programmer, I have a little bit of an advantage in both areas, however, everyone there has failed miserably) and if I'm not mistaken, at one point in tears...
The agent proceeded to get the manager against my wishes, who upon looking at my account and giving me an "oh ****, it's Him" smile after reading whatever it was that was written into the notes on my account they quickly apologized for the situation and proceeded to give me a Droid 2... which is an admitted improvement, but as with all motorola devices, not up to par when compared to any competitor devices by HTC and especially Samsung.
Verizons is the CDMA version of "Death Star Communications" (a.k.a. AT&T... their logo is designed based on the death star...as is there services) with whome, based on the consistantly blatant attempts to mislead customers, jack up the handsets they send us by trying to removes features of these phones in order to charge us for them calling it a "feature", and Low-end bottom of the barrell bull **** artists they try and call technical support or customer service agents in their call centers: it's clear they are neck and neck with AT&T as the Corporate Anti-Christ of the Communications Industry. Qwest is currently in first place but it's reall damn close.
Suffised to say, we are all screwed... there is no hope, and there will be a athiest, handicapped, lesbian minority President of the united states before I will consider paying their absurd contract break fee... so instead I have applied to their call center and am going to resolve this problem from the inside out. it's the only way to fix this Crap... cause they don't care... and since I got laid off, I have nothing else better to do... wish me luck... and F@ck Verizon...
How can I sync a Droid 2 with Outlook contacts and calendar? I do not have access to an office with Exchange so Touchdown won't work (or so I've been told).
Ok now if i read that correctly you got a Droid 2 as a replacement for a Droid 1? How! I was told over and over that the only way to get a new phone instead of a refurbished 1 is if its within the 1st 30 days of purchasing!

Sent from my Droid
If they are out of refurb's then that is one way to get a new phone.
Also, there is a general VZW "rule of thumb" for getting a new phone, or even a different phone model, when you've had 3 replacements already. That isn't set in stone and is more up to the representative and/or how persistent you are.

and when they said that they were out of the moto droid they told me to call a # and i still got a "like new" moto droid days later
Ok so I know that my phone is out dated and Verizon will only tell me to upgrade but im still using the original Moto Droid. My newest problem is the virtual keyboard. Any time that I type anything on it I get double and triple lettering for example … “and” Is shown as “aaandd” Is anyone else having this problem And will I once again have to restore my phone to factory settings? My last restore was just about a month ago and my next upgrade isn’t until September.
I'm on pageplus I had a devour previously but, I cracked my screen so I bought a motorola droid and then swap it to my new phone (I'm a dealer) and now my MMS is not working called page plus they can't doing anything with it because it's not pageplus branded. Anyhow I don't know how to fix my picture messaging I can't send nor receive. Anyone know or can help me out please?
