Exact same price as Rogers/Telus/Bell/Fido. Prices are set my Apple and the carriers must obey that or lose carrying the iPhone.

Pricing, yes, but plans is what's most important!!!

I use Virgin Mobile France (GSM/HSDPA) when in Europe (much cheaper than Rogers roaming) and hope that the carrier lock on the iphone will be compatible between the two (unlikely, but one can only hope!)

This also means that Virgin's agreement for roaming (with France/UK SIMs) will begin using Bell instead of Rogers (At least for 3G) here in Canada.

VM France and VM Canada probably wont be compatible with each other, seeing as one is owned by the Virgin Group and one owned by Bell, basically, 2 completely different companies

I cannot imagine that slightly better camera can cost that much, and I cant think of anyone who really needs 32gb. And BTW, I understand that most of the people here will jailbreak the iphone, but considering the cost of non jailb Iphone with even the minimum of apps installed, its like what 1500$.

I admit, it is a very good phone, but 1500$ for it, gimme a break...

    huh?

Actually, with DAVE and Public Mobile launching about that time, the plans might actually be a little reasonable.

Are you sure Virgin Mobile is owned by Bell? Yes, they run on Bell's infrastructure (as a MVNO), but bell owns "SOLO" as their economic model, why would they bother with more than 1 low cost brand?

Bell bought Virgin Mobile for around $250 million. I think they are trying same thing like Rogers did with Fido.

Watch out for Koodoo iPhone from Telus (No confirmation yet).

Then you're in luck, because the iPhone isn't $1500 lol. I think to buy out a 32gb 3GS is like $799.99. I have an iPhone and I'm not too concerned about suddenly not being an individual. Kind of makes the Ping app more useful.
Another insightful and thought provoking post...

Yes, Bell completely owns Virgin Mobile now. Virgin Mobile is becoming more and more popular over Solo and it seems like Bell with give Solo the old axe and focus on Virgin who's doing a lot better.

Its 799 because u probably jailbroken it. Now think about a legal way of doing things (I'm not a fan of legal ways, but just consider it), you gotta buy the apps, how much are those, 20-30$ each? Compare it to S60 where most of the apps are free, or to WM device. Iphone+apps will cost around 1000-1500, depending on the apps u have.

Most apps for the iphone are 99 cents to 10 dollars. I haven't found too many with my itouch for more then 10.

Personally I don't like the iphone. Guess it could be because I have the itouch so I know what the iphone could do. It's a good phone but overhyped. There are better phones depending on what you are looking for.

aren't a good portion of the apps free, with most of the paid ones $0.99?
