Anyone else still waiting for their CDMA->HSPA account change to go through?

So I signed new contracts and bought new handsets on Friday after work and here I am 3+ days later still waiting for:

    a) the new handsets to activate; and
    b) the account information on 'myteleusmobility.com' to change to reflect my new rateplan/handsets instead of my old rateplan/handsets.

A couple of calls to Customer Service/L&R (one Friday night, one yesterday) have resulted in the same answer: "It'll just take another 24 hours. Keep using your old phones for now". I'd call again today but I'm tired of being told to just wait one more day.

I'm I the only one in this limbo? Sorry for the venting. Just frustrated.

Strange, I was there Thursday and they activated right away. Powered off my old cell before I left the store and now using HSPA.

I would remove battery from both phones, then just power up the HSPA device. Ran into this issue in the past with the Storm since the other phone was still on and alive. It got on the network almost imediately when this was done. Samething happened when I switched to the Hero from the Storm. Forgot to turn Storm off and it sat there for like half a hour saying no service. Then remembered the Storm was on. Turned that one off. Turned off Hero, removed battery, waited a minute to fully discharge, put battery back in and turned it on. Got service right away on boot.

sounds like it just got stuck in the system, usually 24-72 hours to resolve

Same thing here - beyond frustration now. First to have to fight to stay with telus after 15 years (Should of walked 6 months ago when the L&R rep told me to wait a little longer for the new telus future network)

How can telus get it so wrong...I mean really. This is going on five days for my change over, and yes I count weekends not just business hours as the last L&R rep told me.

rant over - back to looking at my ipod touch and thinking of all the things it did well. Not looking at my new white 16gb 3gs iphone and all the things it can't do right now.

lol well Telus definately is having network issues, and they dont have the people..at least in my opinion who are "smart" enough to figure them out..i went from a CDMA data device to an iphone and i had a slew of issues..and am still having them...tomorrow will be day 3 and no fix yet for my plethrora of issues...

Issue 1: my phone and everyone elses in my area on HSPA is an hour behind on time...i can only imagine what thats doing to my bill.

Issue 2: MMS messaging not working..they try to fix and now my txt messaging doesnt work either. And they cant seem to fix that now..

Issue 3: I try to turn on internet tethering and i get an error saying.."to enable tethering on this account contact telus"...nope no clue why thats happening..

So i talk to the CSR again, and yup you guessed it..I have 3 tickets created for issues...lol, and not one is fixed yet. However I did find out on my own that most of these issues are stemming from cdma to hspa moves, like mine. I have friends who signed up with a new number... not transferring an existing one from a data device and guess what..their iphones/hspa phones are workin perfect. I try their SIM in my iphone and it works perfect. I put my sim in their phone and they get the same errors..so the issues are definately in their network..but obviously in the provisioning system...and I just can't figure out how many nerds it takes to figure out...look into the new hspa activations and clone the info over to the customer accounts that migrated and are screwed up...

Oh and the guy who got the iphone and still not active...did u sign up a new number or were u moving a number?, cause I have a friend who moved her cdma phone to a HSPA nokia...and the transfer never worked ...and telus still cant figure it out..that was since saturday..they say its "stuck in the switch".

I have yet to hear of anyone having issues on telus with a new hspa device and new number.

Yet almost everyone i know who swapped a cdma device of sorts (especially a data one) to a HSPA are having mms/txt/other issues.

we need some sort of poll on this..

So after waiting 48 hours from the last time a CSR told me it would take 24 hours to resolve my problem, I called in again to find out when I could expect my phones/account to be switched over. And, yet again, I was told it will probably take another 24 hours. But this time, drastic action was taken. Yes, the CSR *filled out a form*!

That'll get things moving along, I'm sure.

Whereas yesterday I was extremely angry at the entire situation, I'm at the point now where I just have to laugh at the ludicrousness of it all. She did take $50 off this month's bill so I guess there's that.

lol... generous? It's absurd he would be charged for a phone that isn't working properly to begin with. refunding his money is just the right thing to do.

and telus hasn't been doing much of that lately...

    data does not cost 50$; he has by his own accounts been waiting for less then 7 days;

when was the last time rogers offerred a discount equivalent to or near 2 month data cost for 7 days of service..

keep in mind he is not without service; this is a matter of transferring cdma to hspa.

he still has service and access to data and voice i think..

    100% correct.

We can still use our old Treo 650s until the switch occurs. I was not, in any way, complaining about the $50 credit on my bill. I thought it was generous -- especially considering I didn't ask for anything (except for them to get my new phones working ASAP). I'm simply bemoaning the fact that I have a shiny new phone and still can't use it.

Telus will get it sorted out eventually, I'm sure. Heck, they've got three years before the contract expires to get things sorted out!

So now I'm at a week and counting as I wait for Telus to get my account sorted out. Still no service on the new phones; account info still shows the old rate plans.

It's starting to be not funny.

Agreed. So I called in again this morning and the CSR ended up activating the phones manually. She indicated that the contract is still generating an error but they can resolve that behind the scenes now.

So now I finally have a fully functioning Hero. But I suspect I've got a few months of billing problems to sort out in my future.
