Steps to reset lock code Sanyo SCP-2700

I was wondering what the steps were to reset the lock code on the Sanyo scp-2700. I have the msl code and only want to reset the lock code. I changed it and dont remember what I changed it to. I do not want to do a master reset on the phone as I dont want to lose any of my information. I have seen threads on different codes but I am not sure what the exact steps are. Do i use the ##3282# code to go into advanced setup. Will I be able to change my lock code there? Thanks.
