Grateful to have found and followed the above advice... today received OEM usb cable from ebay... "New device detected... modem, etc." and my computer instantly recognizes Flight SGH-A797 in PC Studio!
NOW... How do I get it to function as 3G USB modem the same way I am using my Motorola as such right now? The Flight's USB settings options are "mass storage," "media player," and "PC Studio." Is the modem feature disabled in the firmware?
Mmmkay, nevermind. I just right clicked on my existing cellular internet connection on the Start Menu, selected Properties, and switched modem devices. Easy.
if ya go to Samsung.com and go to mobile and look up the samsung Solstice A887 go to downloads and select software. They just came out with New PC Studio for Windows XP/Vista Version 1.3.0. I downloaded this and i used a Aftermarket USB cable and my Flight A797 links with the New PC Studio.
Thanks. I _finally_ got New Studio to work with my Flight on Windows 7 64 bit. I had to click properties and change the compatibility mode to Vista and I also had it run in Admin mode. Just running it 'normal' I would get several errors saying it couldn't install device drivers.
Now my question, how do you get Flight to work as a modem on AT&T. I setup a connection and set the phone number to wap.cingular. When it 'dialed' it tells me there is no dial tone. I've never used my cell phone as a modem, so this is new to me.
