Must be nice being able to back up stuff. I can't get my phone connected at all.

Wait, dgraham61077, how did you manage to connect to your phone? I've yet to figure out how.

lol thats funny. the exact same thing happened to me the night of my last post. phone wouldnt boot past the blue logo screen. i managed to get walmart to exchange the phone for nothing, even without the box and receipt. lol didnt mention anything about the hidden menus of course. im hopefully going to find a usb cable today, walmart didnt have any. good to know theres a way to back it up if i can get it to connect once i get one.

on the hidden menus note, a few things ive discovered.. when you disable the pc connection, you have exactly 20 seconds from that point to enter the hidden settings menu as many times as you want.
if you miss your chance, you have to power off and back on.

still no idea how to access the other 2 menus... msgs and browser settings. hopefully someone figures it out soon.

edit button not working... forgot to note:

it doesnt matter exactly HOW you get to the settings menu to hit #. for instance, you dont NEED to hit OK then LEFT DIRECTIONAL, etc. not for this menu anyway. you can hit menu and go to settings that way. or how ever you want, as long as you get there within the 20 seconds. hope that makes sence for experimental purposes. ive been trying enableing and disabling just about every option in the phone and going to mesages and browser and hitting # and * trying to figure it out, constantly restarting

you can get usb data cables cheep on ebay, the samsung A877 uses same usb cable and charger and it is cheaper to order items for samsung A877 than it is for SCH-R451C.

    Same codes, different access functions

Okay. I bought this particular phone about 3 months ago in late may from walmart. It has the TracFone icon above the okay pad. However I read through here a combination of ways to access the hidden menus. Here it is.

Before you begin, go to settings > Security |enter lock code, (last 4 digits of your phone's #)| > select "Reset Phone" This will restore all default factory settings.

Disable pc connection: Menu, dial 9, 5, 7, select "No Connection", OK, then /END/

Press "OK" / Left Direction x1 / Press Pound (#) enter all 0's

Now, you thought that was neat? Press pound again. enter the 10 digit lock code and the phone is your playground.

    PLEASE,,, NEED HELP ASAP
Wow! Y'all really know what you are talking about! This is very interesting information and I have been reading it for a couple hours now. I have a big problem though, and I am sure you can fix it for me. I have a Samsung phone, (SCH-R451C,ST). It is an inactive phone and I can't use it. It's not a stolen phone the status shows as invalid and I don't know what I can do. Straight Talk will not do anything for me and either will Wal-Mart. I don't have a receipt for the phone. I got it from a friend and expected it to work which has become virtually impossible. Is there a code I can enter or a way that will make the MEID# valid????
    Please help.
    Thanks so much, Jodi
