My wife's line is eligible for an upgrade and she has no interest it changing from her old Motorola E815 so I used it to upgrade from my Omnia to the Droid. I first went to the Verizon store where it was $299 then wait for a $100 gift card rebate. I went to Best Buy next door and it was $199.99 with no waiting for a rebate, AND another $50 off all smart phones. So, $149.99.
I'm happy and have no issues with my Droid so far.

Thats weird....I live in RI and called Best Buy and they said the price was still $199, and Verizon also has it as $199 not $149???
The verizon store price is the same price, if you have a NE2 credit right.
$299 regular price, and you get a $100 rebate, then if you have an any two rebate ($50), it drops down to $149.
Will Best Buy let you use your $50 NE2 credit?
They let me use my NE2 on my upgrade. The manager of course tried to wiggle out of it but I made sure that they will honor it before I signed up for the presale.

Nice! Thanks guys.
? about the NE2 discount at Bestbuy. Since they are not Verizon does that mean that you actually still have your NE2 after buying a phone through them or does it cancel out.
Another question. How long is this additional $50 discount on smartphones going to last? I don't see it mentioned on their website.
Can they also change my existing plan to add the data plan? And activate the phone, and transfer contacts?
Don't know about xfer of contact info but yes to everything else.Originally Posted by Backlash
No, that comprises the use of the NE2 so you won't have it left afterwards.Originally Posted by cgar22
I got it for $149.99 (new 2 yr contract, not a NE2 deal) at Best Buy, they price matched Amazon.com for me :-)
Argh, I hate Worst Buy, my local store is NOT honoring the $149 price, and they DON'T honor the NE2 discount. I hate how every store is different.
This may have been posted elsewhere, but Dell has the Moto Droid for $119 w/ free shipping.
