The Motorola Droid. A very High End advanced Motorola PDA. I remember the Days when I would watch Videos of Android in its initial stages back in 2006 and 2007 and we all wondered when the "google phone" would come out and what they will look like. But we did not expect that Regular carriers would ever run Android. And now, these Robot soldiers are well equipped with a Linux based operating system. Not only that but as Flashers, it gets harder and harder to hack these phones. And although we have figured out how to get Talk and Texting working on Cricket, We are working Non stop on trying to find a solution on how to make the web stick. Sit tight because this Flash is definitely worth waiting for...

So, yes I guess this post will be updated at some point in the future when the money to be made has been made by exploiting this. Hey, its the newbies fault for not being able to figure it out right?

Well I got QPST up and running and all that good stuff. Thanks for the support and hope to have this available for us.

BTW, how are people supposed to make money out of a "solution" if its not advertised, commercialized or offered to the bidding public? Creating expectation and frustration? Don't wait too long, people might end up tossing their phones before you are able to make a pretty penny of their "blood-thirsty" hands...
    @drhrr, Re read the threads.

Money is not at the core of MY decision not to share the flex file that allows the Moto Droid to be written to. (hint)

The only reason why I wont share is that I gave my word I wouldnt.
    ITS NOT MINE TO SHARE.

The main attraction to this thread is that Mo-Fi is down.
The theory that the leaches are the reason that the solution hasnt been shared is proven in this thread.
Since Mo-Fi has been shut down this thread has doubled.
The craigslist ads have dwindled to nothing, for any flashing.

Please not that noobs are not considered leaches, its the for profit guys that are associated with the term.

Ive been flashing and working with devices since the Treo's. We had to biuld a cable solder ends and move pins around. I didnt create the solution but I did help test and was part of the solution. I am a noob everytime a new handset comes out, like the Palm Pre, the Moto Droid. I learn by trying things myself and then posting what Ive found, reading what others found and then mashing the results.
    Have I created a solution?
    Nope, not even 1.
Have I contributed to solutions YEP.
I am a part of many forums, thread count is not the only way to gauge a posters involvement in forums.

I am here to have the latest technology in my hands, and my wifes, not to get a solution and sell it to people who dont want to learn.

Didnt you already post that you got the settings to stick?
That the ESN reverted to all zeros?

The guide for 1X is already here.

I got my Droid this past week and only yesterday have had time to try getting it setup to run on Sprint's network. Is it as easy as making all the Droids settings match my Sprint Hero's settings in QPST or CDMA workshop? Or would someone be able to point me in the right direction as to what values I actually need to change? I took screen shots of all the tabs and their original settings just incase, but are there some fields that could brick the phone if I change them?

@vjdupree Are you able to share where you got it from? Are they interested in selling their solution to other people?

You won't get a motorola droid on sprint. Sprint sells android phones, so you would be better off buying one from them.

EDIT: In theory it would be possible, but anyone who is capable of doing it wouldn't be asking for help. As far as I know, not a single person has even claimed to have a Motorola Droid on sprint. I am just being realistic here.
Please don't PM me about the Droid data settings. I've said all that I know, and I know all that I care about knowing. I'm not even looking to discover anything new.

In theory it's possible though right? If you can program it with Cricket/MetroPCS settings, then you can do it with Sprint settings. Then change the ESN over to get it activated. If you know something that would prevent this (besides the data settings right now) please let me know.

In theory, pretty much anything is possible. Sprint doesn't allow foreign ESNs on their network. AFAIK, nobody has changed theirs yet. That kind of thing isn't allowed here on HOFO, but I don't know of anybody doing it yet anyway. Everybody I have heard about has been using their Droid on providers that allow foreign ESNs like Cricket, or carriers in other countries like Mexico/India/etc.

If you have a Droid today and want to put it on Sprint, unless you know something I don't know, I would recommend returning it and getting your money back, and then buying an Android phone from Sprint.

I'm honestly trying to be helpful.

Sorry for the OT post, but I'v gotta agree with you. Post count to me don't mean didley. I doubt I've created one single solution, maybe a merge of some info that others have got to work. Then I take notes and write about it. I am saddened that mofi is down. What a wealth of info there was there, and just for the record, I NEVER use anything I find for personal gain. Again sorry for the OT post, I hope you guys get this figured out.

@tracfonejunkie Thanks, I know you're trying to be helpful. I already have a Hero but I want a Droid. I bought mine off craigslist so I can't get my money back, which is ok cuz it's a sweet phone and I want to keep it anyways (even if it's just wifi around my house). I'm determined to get it done or pay someone if I can't figure it out within a month or so. I don't mind learning. I've hacked my share of things before, each time learning everything along the way, just never a phone. I've gotten as far as connecting it with QPST and CDMA Workshop and loading the latest Sprint PRL. It took (I think) because I no longer get a Verizon "can not connect" message, just silence. I think there's more to it than that, I just have no idea what. So if anyone can recommend a place to start learning how to program a phone, please share. I've Google'd every combination of manual, program, QPST, CDMA Workshop, Sprint but have come up with little useful information. And thanks to all who've contributed their knowlege to this thread.

Since MetroPCS doesn't even support EVDO in most markets, i couldn't give two craps about gettting EVDO working, I just need 1x. I've changed the /etc/ppp file, and set the proper permissions with no luck. Also made sure Simple IP was selected in QPST

Can anyone say they have gotten 1x working on metropcs? Everyone loves to say the solution for 1x is just hanging out, but i can't get it to work. I don't think its just a simple matter of proxy setting either, as i can't resolved domain names, including wap.metropcs.com

well said...if i may ad this, i love the fact mo-fi is down, why? because business has never been better now that we've eliminated the google/mo-fi/ho-fo, graduates AND the craigslist postings have indeed dwindled down to nothing!!! just as vjdupree stated. I for one hope it stays that way & will in no way divulge any non public solutions to the general populace. Let the guy who figured it out decide (hopefully he doesnt for a while lol)
i even had some guy name t-bone (he poses as a new ho-fo member but im certain he's a dealer), try to beg then bribe then threaten just to get a solution from me lol

& although i am far from being a pro iv'e learned a lot on my own iv'e even managed to contribute in my own way on a molecular scale as i have written a tutorial for sanyo's scp 2700 (deep blue), web of course but im still working on mms.I didnt see one here so i wrote my own, to help other people!!,nothing really as anyone could of & probably figured out the same thing i did, not to mention i regularly help the 15 or so people who pm me daily on ho fo... but the point is to enjoy the benefits of your hard work i.e. profiting from what youv'e GENUINELY learned on your own ( not what youve mooched & sweet talked out of the guy who worked those long sleepless nights for a solution your just gonna turn around and profit off when he asked you not to)

so no more meaningless posts about the guy who " keeps it to himself for money" since it's his CHOICE! & let's just get back to the droid....is'nt it awesome how it feels so solid in your hands? & the fact that it runs soo smooth, not to mention how lost you get in the free apps!! wow gets me all excited thinking about it, im gonna go touch it right now!!

    Quick update:

I got in touch with the guys that have the unlock here in Mexico. I am now running at EVDO without any problem, but it seems that the FLEX they used to update the settings changed my open ports as well as HWV no longer connects at the regular IP/PORT. I honestly have not taken the time to verify IP and open Ports. But what I am sure of is that it was a FLEX based off my phone -> reworked -> resent to phone through QPST. I'll be reposting once I get the IP/PORT figured out. I don't mean to share the "fix" for a profit as I already payed for it lol. So if anyone is willing to work with me to review the settings to try and crack open this MoFo, please let me know.
Time and time again... Will we never learn?

    Generic Rom?

This is like every other Verizon phone, once you open the explorer or reboot the phone, the settings revert back to Verizon. To fix this on other phones, I install a non carrier specific generic rom, edit settings, then run an update rom and the settings stay the same. I don't suppose there are any generic roms for this phone?
