    Help Selecting a phone.

Ok I have T-Mobile and my contract ends in Feb of 2010. I plan on staying with T-Mobile because the service is pretty good in my city. So I wanna buy a Android phone, but I'm concerned about buying one.. Every Android phone has different updates like 1.5, 1.6, and now 2.0. I had my eye on the myTouch 3G for a while now since it was released. I liked the fact that it has a virtual keyboard and Android of course. But does anyone know what phone I should get? Because it seems like all android phones has low performance. But if I was to get the myTouch 3G. Will I get Android updates in the future? For example Multi touch? I want a phone when my contract ends in Feb. So I thought it be easier on my self to ask my questions now. So when the holidays are over. I can look for a new phone from T-Mobile.

Low performance? In all reality the processor speeds in some of the Android phones now were pushing desktops a few years ago. I personally have an HTC Magic (with Hero ROM) and have no performance issues... I even have multitouch. What do you need the phone to do for you (requirements/specs)? Would you like a virtual keyboard or hardware version? Do you want the stock Android OS or do you want to root it? Depending on carrier you can get whatever Android phone you like. If you don't care about style but need a keyboard I suggest the Motorola DROID (Milestone). You can also looking into the HTC Hero, HTC Magic, HTC Droid Eris and others. By the time February comes though you may be interested in even newer phones.

I'm assuming its low performance, because it laggy at times? I'm not sure about any of this stuff (cell phone Specs) but that is what pops in my head when I see lag. I want a Virtual keyboard, I want the stock Android OS, but if I want too. later in the future I can change ROMS. (I'm a old windows mobile user, crappy OS by the way). I text alot. I'm not real heavy on emails. So I would say I'm about casual on the emailing. I have T-Mobile, so plan on renewing contract. and I am aware that a Android Data Plan is required when buying a android phone of course. But is the myTouch 3G a good phone? Even with the stock OS? Or would the Samsung Behold 2 be a better choice. Not really liking Touchwiz 2.0 though.
