    Virus / Malware Protection

Can someone please tell a NOOB exactly what steps need to be done to protect a JBed iPhone from the bad software floating around? I know you need to change a root password and/or stop a SSH server, but I don't know how to do that.

Do you have an SSH client installed on your phone? (You would have downloaded it through Cydia)

    install "mobile terminal" from Cydia
    run mobile terminal
    type - passwd
it will ask you for the password
    default is alpine
then it will ask you for the new password
then it will ask you to retype the new password

So if you jailbreak but don't install the ssh client you are ok? I was under the impression that stuff got installed and started automatically with a jailbreak.

Just because your phone is jailbroken, doesn't mean that SSH was installed. On the front page of Cydia, it has a "how-to" guide for SSH, but it doesn't mean that SSH was installed.
