Exclamation Blackberry Bold 9700 Side Button

    Hi,

Just got my new 9700, quick question:

Is the right side button supposed to have two levels of click? Like I can click down once, and hear a little click. Then I click again, and its like a full click.

Thanks. And my touchpad is also wiggly, but so was every one they had at Bell.

touchpad is a little wiggly, but if isn't too much, then it's normal.

    Wirelessly posted (BB Tour 9630: BlackBerry9630/5.0.0.230 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/126)

The right soft key is like that on my Tour as well. I thought it was poor build quality but the camera focus kind of makes sense. I don't use my side keys for the camera so I've never noticed. I find it annoying to have to push it so hard though.

my touch pad isn't wiggling at all.

I had an early release unit bought on Nov 3 from Rogers. It had a loose touch pad and loose chrome part on the right side.

My new one was just delivered to me on Friday and the touchpad is tight and no loose bezel on the right. Though, now it is slightly loose on the left near the keys and "clicks" sometimes when I press it. I'm ok with that as the click isn't very load and doesn't happen much. The right side bezel being loose was near the screen and it made loud squeaking noises.

Some people have reported loose battery cover, loose keys, etc. If you can exchange it, you might want to think about it.

The Curve 8900 has that two-position right side button. Yes while in the Camera app, the mid press is to focus while the full press is to take the picture. Outside of the Camera app, the mid press turns on the screen backlight without opening any app or menu, while the full press opens the Camera application.

Yours really doesn't wiggle at all? After everyone's been saying that they wiggle, I thought they were supposed to. I got the people at Bell to open up 6 boxes and all of them wiggled too.
