Nope, needs to be a CDMA phone, not GSM. One that is page plus or verizon branded would be a best choice to minimize frustrations.

"W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) is a wideband spread-spectrum channel access method that utilizes the direct-sequence spread spectrum method of asynchronous code division multiple access to achieve higher speeds and support more users compared to most time division multiple access (TDMA) schemes used today.

The term "W-CDMA" is also used to refer to the standard data interface used by the UMTS mobile communication system, W-CDMA (UMTS)."

    Google is an amazing thing

The only similarity between CDMA and WCDMA is that Qualcomm owns most of the IPR

    No.....your GSM/EDGE/UMTS phone won't work. Sorry.

The only phones that would work with Gsm and Page Plus cdma are hybrid cdma/gsm types, primarily made by Verizon anyway, like Both Blackberry Storms, the Reknown, a couple of other Blackberrys and a handful of other smartphones which can be unlocked for gsm roaming.

Other then that, pure gsm/wcdma types (name can be confusing as it does say "cdma") are out of luck.

Thanks a lot for your information. I have got new HTC Ozone from ebay. I will port my current LG VX8300 VW phone to PagePlus and then replace with OZone .

Three and a half years later, is this still the case that a unlocked, iphone 4(model a1332) cannot be activated on Page Plus?

Nothing has changed. You still need a CDMA phone capable of running 3G Verizon service. When it comes to the iPhone 4, the Verizon or Straight Talk versions will activate. It may be possible to "flash" some other specific CDMA versions of the iPhone 4, like jailbroken Sprint phones, to work on Page Plus.

Depends on the phone, but in general, no, you can't activate a GSM unlocked phone on P+.

If you have a phone that has both GSM and CDMA and is whitelisted by Verizon, you can activate that. There are very few of those, such as iPhone 6, 6s and Moto X PE 2015.
