Iphone on Tmobile (I have free edge?)

I currently have the Iphone 2g on tmobile. I have never bought the data plan on it except once which was for one month back in the summer (I got the $9.99 internet for 5.99 asking I wanted to try it out for a month since they didnt have the 5.99 tzones internet) Anyway after configuring the network settings for it to work It worked. Then it ended one month later not working anymore.
Well after I had to send my phone into apple and getting a new refurbished one, I didnt have any of my files on it and I have had this phone since september. Well I never tried to go on the internet without wifi since I just assumed it wouldnt work. Well about 30 minutes ago I was browsing the web and I noticed my wifi dropped for some reason but it still loaded the page. Well I just assumed maybe it had already finished loading before it dropped so I decided to enter a web page that was not already cached into my phone, and it loaded but slower.
I then thought to myself "maybe the phone is bugged and I do have wifi it jsut isnt displaying the wifi symbol." So I go and disable the wifi on the phone, and the internet still works but the pages still loaded slower than wifi. So I restarted the phone just assuming my phone was bugged and wifi was still disabled and what do you know, the internet still works. I decided to go to whatismyip.com to look at the ip address, and it is not my home one. So im assuming I have free edge? Maybe I have had it all alont I just never tried it. The only time I tried it was when it expired and I still had the networking settings it needed configured. I checked my tmobile bill online and nothing extra has been billed nor is the internet option added.
I have the myfaves 800 plan w/ unlimited texting for all the lines. That is the only thing I have on my plan. Does anyone else have a iphone on tmobile that could try this out to see if im not the only one?

$5.99 is tzone (once called T-mobile web) - is gold plan! unlimited.
$9.99 is limited web plan..
$5.99 tzone works great on iPhone (that i am using).
Some ppl reported $9.99 does not work on iPhone. (maybe not true, i could not validate)

I would watch out for data charges if you did load up a page without a plan. T-Mobile doesn't let you get online if you don't have one of their data plans but anything is possible.
$10 web is unlimited. Works on the iPhone, and what page we're you loading?

From my knowledge the 9.99 internet was the same as the tmobile web with the exception of a different name, and a higher price as well as a different apn setting. Otherwise they were both unlimited and had around the same speed.
I am looking out, im checking my bill online since it shows the price and it still at 0.00 which means no extra charges have been placed. I am still going to call up though to verify that they do not have a data plan that charges per usage.
As for the websites, I loaded howardforums, my email, checked the weather, and another forum site and thats it.
I also checked my apn settings and internet2.voicestream.com is in there. I knew I took it out before, but it must of went back there when i restored my phone. I took it out to see what would happen and it sends me to the tmobile page saying I need to subscribe to a data service to get the web. I then put it back in their and it works again.
