tomorrow? damn didnt know all of that. I just bought a bold 2 on telus think im going to wait a week before I Activate it. see they loosen up
well i rather pay $35 unlimited without contract than 6gb $30 with 2 year contract.
PS please dont compare whatever plans wind comesout with against retention plans from rogers because not everyone can get them. Compare wind plans to the plans posted on fido and rogers websites give wind a chance to offer better prices after they have some profits comming in.
Yeah, comparing retention plans is about as annoying as **** as CityFigers/i.Fido/JustinCredible going off about how his CityFido option is better than what anyone else could get.
Admittedly, people on good retentions/grandfathered plans might want to stick with what they have, but in talking about what's good, most people have in market plans, so that's what we should talk about in comparing.
Please don't PM me asking questions that could very easily be asked publicly.
Band I/1 = IMT, 2100 (rarely wrongly referred to as 1900/2100)
Band II/2 = PCS, 1900 (never wrongly referred to as 1800/1900)
Band III/3 = DCS, 1800 (never wrongly referred to as 1700/1800)
Band IV/4 = AWS, 1700 (often wrongly referred to as 1700/2100)
Band V/5 = CLR, 850
Band VIII/8 = GSM, 900
I think that Wind is launching with the perfect plans for doing damage to the Big 3. These plans will steal all their high ARPU clients that have $150-$300+ monthly bills. Corporate customers, realtors, sales reps....basically all the power users. This will leave the Big 3 with all the customers with low-value plans, cheap retention plans or those in rural areas that are expensive to service, leading to lower profit margins. These plans are designed to pick all the low hanging fruit, a perfect strategy for a profitable start.
Right on +100
I fall in there even with an awesome power plan with per second billing I can cut a 400+ dollar bill in summer 100+ in winter to 80.00 all in. my low months are over 900 minutes;if these plans are real, count me in.
Lol, if WIND lets you tether, and becomes a way of "replacing home internet" they re going to go bankrupt. People are saying they want to rack up insane amounts of usage.
They will cap it.
They're going to throttle P2P usage. Which is fair enough. Also, they wouldn't have offered it if they hadn't predicted people doing that.

Ya, but most people with in-market plans will just call Rogers and demand more, similar features to what they can get with WIND. Or people will pay the ECF if Rogers doesn't.
I'm pretty sure Rogers will re-format their pricing strategies.
only real reason companies cap is because it gets slower for everyone else. not because they loose money. as long as they ban torrents they will be fine..
real problem i think wind will face is the ECF and not having iphone work on their network.
Yep. ECF is the biggest one. I'm a Koodo Sales rep right now, and ECF is #1 reason people don't switch, iPhone is #2 reason. Oh well. For those of us who are happy to get an N900 and an iPod Touch, and don't have an ECF to pay, it's going to kick ***.

Actually, most people don't know they can demand something better. Rogers is probably counting on that. But yeah, we'll probably see some reformating of their pricing.
i am also in a contract with fido i bought the iphone when it first came to canada. 3 year contract... ecf left $400. still i won't be switching unless wind can offer iphone...

Ya, but its not about "knowing" about retentions or the loyalty department in general.
You hear about something else better that's advertised, what do you do? You call in and ask to leave (or at least for similar perks), when you ask to leave they will offer you what is fair and comparable. If people don't agree they will pay the ECF.
Rogers/Bell/Telus are going to have a ton of calls once WIND plans become more open and available to the public.

Will people never learn; if you don't want to incur a penlty, Don't sign a contract.
